In for a rude awakening if you think Rafa is going to play him and Ritchie imo. One of them would be on the bench. He's started Ritchie and Atsu together. No reason he wouldn't play Townsend with the former. Very rarely, only in cup games or the odd games he rested Gouffran. I don't want it, but it's quite clearly when push comes to shove that Gouffran is going to start.

That's the thing, he's not a defensive midfielder and Arsenal are finding that one out.

It's called pace. Creativity too, it's obvious as hell that outside of Shelvey there isn't any really. Ritchie is intelligent, neat and tidy but i don't particularly trust him to open a team up. Hopefully that's something Rafa will look to rectify should we get promoted which i would imagine we will. Not that it matters as long as Shelvey's available in this league that will almost always be enough.

Only thing is their lack of battlers and solid pros. I'll never be convinced Cabaye can play in a midfield two in this league. Not just this league but full stop IMO, i have never seen any evidence he can do it anyway.

They also just don't have any good players tbh. I don't know any of them to comment tbh But aye it does look that way.

Yup, football section at least feeds off negative emotions. Whether it's intended or not it's definitely what happens. It's genuinely a massive turn off to reading any of it.
