On the Zlatan thing, if he doesn't meet expectations it will be because he came over too late and not because he's overrated ( which is utter bollocks) or anything. Happy he's finally here though, wanted him to play in the PL for years.

Accept he does have control it was stated many times when he resigned. And Townsend had a release clause, there is nothing anyone can do about that once it was put into his contract.

But not surprising, Ancelotti is class but he rarely gives youth a chance if he has a reliable and experienced player to call upon. I wouldn't be surprised if there's quite a few Bayern players who are young with potential who don't get a look in. That lad who has impressed for Portugal during the Euros being one of them, wouldn't be surprised at all if he's loaned out.

That didn't happen though. I was keen to give the lad a chance and not hold where he came from against him, very small time mentality iyam... And for a couple of games looked a decent rotational pick... However that became progressively worse as it went on. I tried to give riviere the same chance (because I have been accused for not giving players a chance because of the being 'forrin') but my patience ran out after 2 games People still down on English players and Townsend suffered from that, Ritchie won't get the same due to Rafa being the man bringing him in but had this been a mcClaren signing s*** would have hit the fan, same with Gayle. It was more to do with the fact Townsend didn't look nowhere this level of player for Spurs, even when he was nailed on starter his only goal was a overhit free kick which clearly was meant to be a cross. The rest of his performances were basically cut inside and shoot but never score. I mean he scored more for us in 13 games than he did for Spurs in 50, has f*** all to do with him being English he just never showed anything like this form for Spurs and to try and suggest he did is nothing but revisionist history.

Even in the Championship I honestly don't think he gives us those numbers. Not even close. In fairness he probably won't do the same for us as well, different style of play and everything else involved. If he even does half of that for us i'll be ecstatic.

Don't really care about any of our central midfielders, Shelvey included. Wouldn't be fussed at all if practically all of them were moved on.

Honestly considering how rare his starts are it's just as deceiving as the stats you are arguing against. At the end of the day he's scored 15 goals in 3 seasons, hardly anything to suggest he's going to set the place on fire. But we'll see i suppose. I just don't see the argument that he's going to score loads in the championship, there's no argument to suggest that really.

Yep, he's shown nothing to suggest he can score the goals that will take us up. I obviously trust Rafa but someone who has a similar record to what we have is hardly going to inspire confidence in me that he can and they can't. Hope i'm wrong.

Not sure why people are so convinced that he'd score goals in the championship when the same people are also convinced that Perez and Mitrovic are not good enough. Especially when their PL goal records are practically the same, i'm not against signing him at all but not convinced that it's so certain he'll be any more of a success than what we already have.

Ben Arfa under Sampaoli I'll watch them a lot probably.
