It's a two way thing, Giroud hardly ever makes himself available and slows down their play significantly. Having someone who will make runs for their midfield in behind, short or otherwise would in theory help them. Obviously time will tell.

You would think so wouldn't you but the team as is is more suited to a direct style. When you look at their attacking players you have Cazorla, Ozil, Sanchez, Xhaka, Welbeck and Ramsey. Cazorla is probably only more suited to a slow, considered style than counter but the others definitely are. I just think Wenger is obsessed with winning with this style and won't change despite the fact his team not being suited to it.

He wont fit into Arsenal's passing game. His game is built all around pace and counter attacking football. To spunk 20/22m on a soon to be 30 year old who I highly doubt would take them onto the next level & may not even get into the team doesn't make much sense to me when they've got a bottomless pit of money. As for Vardy, it depends on what he cares about more out of game time and ££. Not to mention that if he does go there, he'll no doubt be played as a winger where he's completely ineffective. Although it should be said that their team is so much better suited for counter attacking than slow, considered build up they have been doing. If only Wenger would realise it....

It's not about that, it's that the team being picked and likely the one that starts the Euros should be nowhere the team that actually plays. Tonight was incredibly telling, no one really passed to each other and a lot of the players lack technical ability. We technically have a team which could do kind of well i suppose but Hodgson actually has to pick the right group and i have zero confidence in him doing so.

I'm the opposite, if that team see's the light of day in the Euros i wouldn't be surprised if we don't get out of the groups again.

Their record in the PL is hardly great, yet you seem convinced they'd score loads in the championship yet for the same reason you think Mitrovic and Perez won't score because of their PL record. ( Armstrong too as the difference between League 1 and Championship isn't that big) I wonder why that is.

Payet's last season in France was pretty exceptional, like 7 goals in 38 games? not that exceptional. He never really had an exceptional year in France, which is why most media people where so surprised with how successful he's been in England. He never really had a consistent year ( or even few months tbh ) until this season.

Yup. England have a nice stable of fullbacks. Most of them can't defend, which is quite important. I'd start Bertrand though.

Can't see that working out too well for them, everyone coming there will up there game significantly because it's such an iconic venue.

In the Premier League mind, the championship is hot garbage. Also we ended the season on a 6 game unbeaten run under Rafa, we wouldn't even be here if Rafa was appointed one or two games earlier. What happened before Rafa is completely and utterly irrelevant, we'll stroll it as long as the good players we do have are actually replaced if sold. Which I see no reason why they wouldn't be, if they aren't then Rafa will leave anyway.

They never have got along tbf so it isn't surprising, he should just suck it up though as Hatem clearly deserves to go. Not sure i particularly agree with the whole best player thing but he clearly shouldn't be sitting at home.
