It's a great point. Even crazier is the fact they play Moussa wide right for France ahead of Payet. So it's not as though they are selecting Moussa to play centre mid, which Payet wouldn't be suited to really. Payet was given a free role behind who ever striker they played last night. As fucking if he would ever get for that France. Sissoko usually plays Right Wing or as a Pogba back up, not even close to being comparable. As usual ( talking about this Waugh guy) people talk about something they have absolutely clue about. They don't even come close to be given the same roles and positions for France to be compared to one another.

If he's suddenly energetic, look like he can protect the back 4 and so on then fair enough. But i haven't seen anything but someone who is never in position, lacks energy compared to before so doesn't cover the same amount of ground and overall is just bad. Seen nothing for the last few seasons to suggest any different.

Unlike most, Tiote's passing isn't my issue with him. It's the complete lack of positional awareness ( got away with it before due to playing alongside Cabaye and his overall energy) and it doesn't defend at all well anymore.

Energy and desire That Tiote hasn't been seen in like 4 years, almost want him to play again so people can have their memory refreshed.

It probably wouldn't work long term unless the team learned to press properly and the whole team was within 20 yards of each other which they wouldn't learn very quickly anyway. Although we should just give it a go anyway.
