That's what i want as well, i did want to see De Jong behind the striker as well at first with Wijnaldum breaking from midfield to support but i'm now starting to think that 433 is definitely the way to go with this squad.

Not that year, they had took a serious drop as shown by the fact Madrid won the title comfortably. The year before you might have had an argument, but the year Chelsea beat them was the year Guardiola resigned and they were vividly a lot worse.

Probably not considering Sissoko will be back and Thauvin will obviously start. He should be though, was by far our best player last year and still is one of our best players. At this point I'm convinced our best set up involves them all. Sissoko and Gini sitting behind a front 3 of Thauvin/Aarons, Mitrovic, Ayoze. Would involve dropping Colback though, which I can't see him doing. It does but as you say i don't think it's gonna happen, would definitely drop Colback and Obertan for Thauvin and Sissoko tbh.

Don't agree, seeing as it was getting ripped apart for the first 20 mins. It mostly changed because of the cover it was getting afterwards not because of the individuals of the back 4 even if it had some moments. Even so waiting to see if we get beat is a silly attitude to have IMO, pick the back 4 you think is the best and if that means bringing Janmaat back in which it is IMO then do it. Taylor and Coloccini did well today, but Arsenal move the ball at a much higher tempo than Man Yoo did and as usual against Arsenal they'll probably open Taylor-Coloccini up with relative ease.

There was slight in game changes as well, he reacted to the first two mins and altered things slightly. Pardew never did that shit.
-
Probably because if you are going to play 4231 and that's the only way to force him into the side, today proved IMO that we are much better with Anita sitting and two CMs in front of him trying to break forward like we did after the first 20 mins. Sissoko for Colback and Thauvin for Obertan IMO.
-
There was a lot of times he gave the ball away for no reason at all, although quite a few did that. In terms of just general defending he was spot on.
-
Obertan won't play if Sissoko is fit, i'm confident about saying that but i fear Ayoze might not either. Although he should, would definitely go 433 with Anita-Sissoko-Wijnaldum/Ayoze-Mitrovic-Thauvin personally.

Zero shots on target is massively conflicting tbh, Mitrovic hit the bar and Perez had a shot that just went past the post. Both were more quality chances than anything Man Yoo did before the Hernandez chance and of course Thauvin was a hairline difference away from scoring.
-
He's clearly gifted technically and his first touch won't be a tackle like Obertan, so that's immediately a good thing.
-
Most of the time he lost the ball he was fouled, really pissed me off actually as soon as he slightly nudged Smalling he'd win a free kick immediately but if he climbed all over Mitrovic nothing would happen.
-
His final ball is still a bit iffy IMO, but much better today overall definitely.

I'm not mad. I just remember when Newcastle FC came to Old Trafford and tried to win. Today reminded me of when Exeter got a replay at Old Trafford. "Heroes at the back." "Great defensive performance." Hi Mike. Thought we did outside the final 10 mins tbh, we just gave the ball away sloppily when we did have possession.

Two world class saves from Hernandez and Mata. Colo blocked three shots as well that were on target. How anyone can say Colo wasn't MOTM is beyond me. He saved it from being a spanking. Any goal keeper in the league would have saved from Mata , Krul did fuck all other than Hernandez save. A lot of shots+possession doesn't = spanking.

Just showed the Mitrovic booking against Swansea again, despite the fact he was clearly fouled they are going " dived in there as well, lucky not not be sent off etc " -
