It's a question of whether you think it happened because of tactical/structure issues or individual mistakes, i genuinely don't remember clearly enough to say If it's the former we can blame him for it, if it's the latter then it's on the players.
-
It's been a consistent theme for Guardiola his whole career, he overthinks things and makes weird and stupid decisions in at least one of the legs and since leaving Barca he's been consistently punished for it. De Bruyne's performance last night just makes not starting him in the first leg even more dumb, i don't really have much issue what he did in the 2nd leg really but they lost the tie because of what happened in the first leg.
-
They seem vulnerable to everything tonight.
-
I don't think he'll get much change out of Van Dijk. Messi drops so deep though, not like VdV can man-mark him Yeah i don't think VdV will have much to with stopping him until he enters the penalty area. The likes of Fabinho will be much more vital to stopping/slowing down Messi than Van Dijk will.

It's just one person tbh. But anyway i said that when the KOs happened that i don't trust any English team against Barca and i still hold that believe tbh.
-
The fact they've played that many games in the CL is insane as well, i genuinely wonder how many players have played more than Ronaldo has tbh. Must be a really short list.
-
I really hope Ajax win it all, after the bosman ruling i really thought them ever winning this competition ever again would be nothing more than a mere pipedream. I mean obviously they will be ransacked in the summer, but at least we can have this till then.
-
I can't like or dislike him tbh, there's nothing really to him personality wise. Or at least that's how he comes across to someone like me who pays very little attention.
-
Didn't know he signed a new contract, i was assuming he might move on after this season for some reason. Guess that won't happen then if it's signed a big new deal.
-
The circumstance isn't really relevant to my argument tbh, i couldn't really care less about it. I'm just saying that it's not as simple as throwing money at something and thinking it will fall into place. You may care about the circumstance but it's never been part of my argument so i'm not really fussed tbh.

That's what i'm saying, i think the aspect of coaching, players self improvement, mental aspect etc etc is genuinely ignored. Not just about City either but in general, if Liverpool gave the money they spent last summer to 90% of the league other than Klopp would they be on track for over 90+ points? probably not. I just feel like that it's not as easy as some think it is.
-
I didn't want to hurt anyone tbh, i just feel like the whole money discussion is way too simplified in terms of how easy it supposedly is once you have it. Especially in the Premier League where other than Tottenham ( for their own reasons) all the big teams spend shit loads, i don't think it's as easy to have success as some think, there's way more to it than just spend money and everything happens.
-
Because that's how football is played? i don't see the point in talking about their spending over multiple seasons when the sport isn't defined by success over multiple years or even played like that? But if you want to do this then fine, how about Man Utd's spending since Ferguson retired? what has that got them?
-
It's a bit silly to think it's that easy tbh, there's dozens of examples of clubs throwing money at something and still failing. The money helps obviously but when you're as good as City are it goes way deeper than money. Not to mention they only bought one player this past summer anyway, in terms of last year to this year most of what makes them good is self improvement from what's already there. Please cite examples of clubs that have spent one billion and failed. Considering their ambition is to win the CL then City themselves have failed, multiple times over. But i was clearly referring to season by season as football isn't played over a 5 year period but season to season. Plenty of teams have spent 100s of millions sometimes 200 million in one season and won nothing, hell Liverpool might join that club if City win the league.

Honestly it really comes down to the Spurs game, i suspect City will beat everyone else so if they win that game it will probably be a sign that they're winning the league.
-
It's already unbearable, Sky were literally frothing at the mouth at the thought of it happening today.
-
Come to think of it i don't remember him missing many games other than those suspensions Makes sense though, the way he plays you can tell he's a ridiculous good professional. A lot of pulls and tears are preventable if you train properly and look after yourself and quite clearly Suarez is a great example of being a pro.

Newcastle United 0-1 Crystal Palace - Sat 06/04/19 - Match Thread

Not watched the game but when you have 18 shots on goal and fail to score you have nobody but yourselves to blame. -
Not watching but this is undoubtedly a perfect description of my past experience of listening to Tyldesley.

I don't trust any English team against Barcelona, they are all way too open tactically. I know Roma happened but in general over the last few years they've lost to teams who can slow Messi down and i don't trust any English team to do that. The only team left who i can see doing that is Juventus, i haven't looked at the draw in detail as it pertains to the Semi's but the whole thing is smacking of Juve vs Barca.
-
It got tiring years ago, part of me will be happy when both retire so football can collectively move on from both.
-
I'd love to see him tested at all going off last night He didn't really have to do anything, every Bayern attack was stopped before the ball got anywhere near him. I never watched Bayern all season but going off last season jesus christ are they shite, zero urgency, laboured in possession with no real pace to their passing. Liverpool didn't really have to get out of training match levels, to the point i don't even think they were that good and random mid table PL teams have gave them more issues this season than Bayern did last night.
-
Wouldn't be surprised if Bayern beat Liverpool as well, although that's not really something to criticise someone over.
-
I'm personally of the opinion that it happened to PSG so therefore it's a penalty.
