  1. Which is why i mentioned the other managers in the top 6 specifically. They've all improved the players they have, where as Mourinho has done the opposite. That's the long and short of it to me, if you're not improving players as a manager you're not fit to be in charge.
  2. That opening statement is very much open to debate. Well Moyes side finished 7th. Van Gaal 4th and then 4th Mourinho 6th and then 2nd I’m not sure in what universe finishing 2nd can’t be seen as an improvement? And now comfortably outside the Champions League, having spent more than anyone, getting paid more than anyone, ruining squad morale, and falling out with everyone. That universe, the one where the others listed didn't do that. Pep's spent more tbf. Mourinho would never have bought some of the players Pep has though. Even this week he was whinging about his players lack of physicality. I'm not one of those that hates him either, I think he makes the Premier more interesting, but his time is up at the very top. Best bet for him would be a club just below that tier, he'd be good for a team like Everton maybe. Or played them correctly, the likes of Sane, Sterling would have floundered under Mourinho. Hell there's no way in hell Mourinho would have played Silva and De Bruyne in a midfield 3, he would have stuck at least one of them on the wing covering the fullback. Not really a Pep thing either, he's failed to do anything that Emery, Klopp or Pochettino have done I.E. actually improve the players you have.
  3. Aye, it's not like Carrick has been giving the job with top 4 in mind or you're struggling against relegation. There's no real pressure for him to succeed, if it goes well then great but if it doesn't then who cares really?
  4. At the end of the day, almost every single player under him has gone backwards. That's enough to sack him by itself even if you ignore everything else, as it's literally the no 1 priority as a manager.
  5. This had to come eventually for Arsenal though, you can't start slow as they do each week and keep getting results. If they want to finish in the top 4 they need to come out faster.
  6. I heard that, i assumed it was bollocks though because when i watched him i thought he looked good.
  7. Nice Double nice. Nice day to bring that up, cheers Triggs.
  8. Easy to forget how shite we were between like November and January last year. We weren't bad last season aside from that, results wise anyway.
  9. Who said it matters? no need to be defensive, i was just looking it up because of what you and Triggs said. It's not a big deal either way.

Agree, he needs to play though. Would like him to follow Sancho's lead and get some game time.

Yep. No idea why some English fans are obsessed with cramming our all 'best' players together without any rhyme or thought put into it. I'm glad Southgate doesn't see it that way, if Alli can't improve to the point ( likelihood says no) where he can play deeper to a quality standard there's no point forcing him in. What we have right now is fine, we just need to develop better midfield talents who can actually play there. Easier said than done of course but we don't need to be forcing players who are better elsewhere just because he's supposedly more talented.
  12. I guess we'll find out in a few hours Or minutes where the window licker inevitably denies it with glee.
  13. Looking at their lineup they started 3 starters, 2 fringe starters and the rest were mostly kids or backups. It's probably closer to a 2nd choice XI than a first team.
  14. French isn't he? Be a bit weird for someone Spanish to be born in Paris.
  15. If i was an prospective buyer, i'd be more concerned with takeovers being made public knowledge affecting the team so risking relegation than any protests. Although considering it's likely bullshit anyway i expect they are leaking it to the press themselves.

    Fabian Schär

Just reading this thread i'm struggling to see it as well.
  17. CBs are the only decent players we’ve got. Harsh IMO, there's some decent players in midfield we just have very little in terms of difference makers and most of them are very flawed. But if used correctly Diame and Ki are decent players. I know, I’m just exaggerating to suggest there are strong reasons we look good with a back 3. Fair, i should have assumed as such.

  19. Never watched him play but if he's anything close to good than it's a great thing IMO, mainly because i feel like a genuinely good attacking midfielder would probably have more impact than any other signing.

Not being funny but if you weren't invested during the WC you likely never will.

First time I've watched us since the WC. One thing I'd like to see is Sterling float around a bit more, he's not a traditional winger who commits people and puts crosses in. The way he's being used (by design or not) is limiting his potential impact. That aside I don't have very many complaints.

There's not, season lasts 10 months - there's only four international breaks across them. How many is this. Spoiler tag that.
  24. What KI means I think is he only won 1 CL, if he was around today he would be lambasted for it. Hell Messi is roundly criticised everytime he doesn't win something, not saying it's right but in general star players are more scrutinised now than they were then. When you look at Zidane's club career he wouldn't be remembered as fondly in this era with the same trophy haul because of the obsessive scrutiny that goes on.
