  1. Because they would end up losing their best 2 players and the risk of relegation is far greater for them which would be catastrophic. The ramifications for us aren't as severe, though could be a setback long term. We don't know until Nick W has settled etc and whether we bring someone else in.
  2. Amortised fees to buy vs a PSR benefit of maybe 80m (can't be assed to calculate his current NBV). Doesn't help us unless we actually sign anyone of course.
  3. I think you could have had your own thread just on this topic I mean that with no ill will - dont necessarily agree but respect the passion!
  4. I spend most of my days explaining finance to non-finance people so not doing it on a message board. I get it and we have doubled our money and increased our PSR headroom. I'm not smug at all, but I'm not letting 1 dickhead ruin my season either, nor am I worrying about whether LFC think they've got one over on us.
  5. How much did we buy Isak for? Double it. What do you get? We haven't signed Wissa have we?
  6. We signed a potentially elite striker. Let's see how he does first shall we?
  7. Think half the board need to find new interests with the amount NUFC winds them up Pros Doubled our money Got rid of a dickhead Still have a quality team with some great characters Exciting new striker and other signings Won a cup last season Cons Nah, still thinking about the pros thankyou
  8. Likely it was never 150m, its all just posturing and we see it all the time...don't know why anyone thought it is different just because it's us. If we wanted 150m we'd have said 165m from the get-go. I don't think we wanted to sell but reckon 130m was more like the figure we had in mind IF we decided it was the best option. Not having a 2nd striker lined up does make it seem fucked, but maybe there's another Nick W surprise lined up!
  9. I don't think he's in that category yet to be honest. Haaland has 49 in the Champ League whereas Isak has 1. Im sure he can get there but not for me at the mo
  10. He'll sell for 100/110m next year regardless if he plays or not this season and I don't think his true value is 150m anyway. Maybe if he lit up the Champs League this season but we may never know that. There is no material reason to sell him for a lowball amount. Worse case he sits out for the season and we sell him, hopefully elsewhere, and people know we don't fuck about. Best case he comes back in and drives his value up even further. All this only being able to fine him x wages if he doesn’t play nonsense is meaningless - if he doesn't meet his contractual obligations I'm sure the club will take legal action against him to recover those wages "losses".
  11. The 150m is just standard negotiating. If we'd said 130m they'd have offered us 110m....oh wait
  12. I'd almost prefer Liverpool to only offer 120m as its far easier to refuse. Then let him play back up to Woltemade if he wants to reintegrate or suffer a season of legal action to teach him the values of a contract. We'd then have 9 months to rustle up some interested parties abroad. Might not be the 150m but don't think that's on the table now anways.

    Nick Woltemade

Hope his medical consists of a full training session with the team and the the rest of the day has him strapped to a chair with his eyes taped open, whilst Eddie shows him video of tactics and coaching advice like in an old school film brain washing/torture scene. Will then start Saturday and score a couple of goals 👌
  14. Bet the NUFC training gear feels like a strait jacket and chains against his enslaved flesh
  15. I can't be assed to be annoyed. I fucking enjoyed that overall and would rather focus on the team. Loved seeing Hall back, Osula goal was great to watch, Bruno and Burn excellent. Nice for Thiaw to get some mins. We have a quality bench now!
  16. Schar head injury, tonali shoulder, lots of subs. Wasn't surprised but still annoying
  17. If there was any truth to him telling the club it was his last season 12 months or however long ago, surely he'd just come out and say that? Especially if he tried to sort a new contract and the club pushed back. Doesn't have to be aggro, just the facts. If I was getting panned for shitty behaviour and there were mitigating circumstances, I'd give my side. Leak it via an "unnamed source close to Isak" if needs be. But no, silence is deafening.

Wahey, I'm m always excited to sign a new player! I don't watch football outside of our leagues so know nothing about him - means I get to enjoy the new player feeling (as long as I can filter out any forum negativity ) I'll at least have the decency to let him be shite for us first before being down on him

    Yoane Wissa

Would be happy at this. Stats not far off Isak last year. With the players around him hopefully he'll thrive. We'll have best part of £100m to spend elsewhere (assuming Isak buggers off)
