Fucking hell...how quickly people have forgotten the relegation battles oh so very recently. "Unacceptable window" "failure" "questions must be asked" If it wasn't for FFP we'd have everything we wanted. It's just going to take a little longer and unfortunately, will either have to sell one of our top players or buy and flip youth talent ala Chelsea to build the squad ala Minteh. Which obviously sucks. Honestly, sometimes I think that 4th spot set unrealistic expectations and turned some of the fanbase into spoilt brats.

It all just feels a bit "easy" to complain about this and why? We didn't lose yesterday because of Murphy...we didn't even lose at all. Yes Minteh looks good, but I've only ever read about his attacking play. What's he like defensively? No one seems to talk about that and it's a huge part of his position here. Out of anyone that we could have sold (that someone wanted), he's the one that I feel most comfortable losing at this point and still unknown. It's a shame we had to sell, but that's the game at the moment

Nice comfortable 3-0 lead by 60 mins allowing us to blood some youngsters, ahead of flogging a couple of them for 35-50m each next summer to stave off last minute FPP concerns

I'd happily go through the season with the squad we have and minimal injuries so would be good to see some ££ spent there. That being said, I'm just enjoying my football again. I don't need Champions League just yet, as exciting as it was, and appreciate it's going to take longer than expected due to obvious restraints. I do of course stilI a juicy signing

I wonder if there are Man U and Chelsea fans bemoaning the fact that he's sure to sign with us as their manager situations are all over the shop. Complete guesswork but if I was a player, I'd want to speak to the man I'd be dealing with on a daily basis rather than an exec. On the other hand, I'm sure any agents have their own agenda (££) and it's not necessarily what's best long term.

I think the club has underestimated how much of a hamstring FFP is to some extent. The reality is that we're going to have a first 11 that I'd wager could be top 4, but that for a good chunk of each season we're going to have players that potentially aren't at that level. I'm happy with Howe establishing top 6 with some European competition each year. That being said, with Chelsea, Liverpool, spurs and maybe Man U all having new managers next season, plus Villa stretched, it would be nice to try and take advantage

Before or after the "Chelsea" loophole was closed, and they restricted contract length to 5 years for FFP? Edit - that's a genuine Q by the way as I'd be surprised if that wasn't dealt with at the same time...

Great, let's give everyone new 10 year contracts as soon as they sign and spread out that FFP! Yeah, that isn't right.

To be fair, the original point was how would a loan benefit us, and my answer was predicated on us being on target for 3 years ending 2024. On that basis it is true and I'm sure it is tight, and frankly no one has any clue where we'll end up, BUT, if they have forecasted (and they'll be revisiting on a monthly basis for several different scenarios) that we'll be OK as is, then might as well take the revenue to benefit 2025, 2026 AND 2027, not just 2 years.

Only useful if they want to spend now. If they dont want to, it is unnecessary for the 3 year rolling period ending 2024 as by all accounts we're good. Might as well then have the benefit in years 2025, 2026, 2027.
