We were built around Isak and that was telling when he started not giving a fuck at the end of last season and we started looking pretty dull. Wissa was likely supposed to be the main man at the start of the season but had to shift to Woltemade and Howe hasn't got it quite right with him. Throw in the Livra and Hall injuries and its been a poor start to the season - we've looked much better since they've returned. Today was objectively very bad though and hard to make excuses. Hopefully put it down to the "occasion". I'd expect to see Wissa and Murphy (Elanga has been hugely disappointing) more, and a return to some form...

I think we could all see that happening. Not a good day at the office for Howe here...

Was the guiltiest reaction I've seen

Yeah, awkward reading at times - think some people are struggling with the current NETD standings But let's try and act with some decorum until order is restored

Shit, I'm out in London tonight. Nice knowing you lads...

Article about the move. No real money in it but talks about his reasoning. Says very lovely stuff about us and the area which is always nice to read https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cx2n8wd2znzo

It's like they don't know half the football world will also be able to watch slow mo replays and think they can claim this shite
-
I'm not really bothered about 5 at the back - its not table football and the players aren't fixed in a line. Livra and Hall will be where they're needed...hopefully further up!

BBC: "HT: Man Utd 2-0 Chelsea United striker Benjamin Sesko had seven touches in the first half, one more than Estevao Willian who was subbed off for Chelsea in the sixth minute."

Exactly this! People get so hung up on the financials but would you rather see Wissa bagging 20 goals to get used top 4, or another Minteh who never plays for us but gives us that sweet, sweet £30m PSR dopamine hit

Fundamentally disagree myself, this is not black and white (pun intended) and you can't choose just one revenue stream to judge success. Well you can of course if you want, it's anyone's perogative based on their outlook or agenda. Same as stats Players generate revenue outside of just their trading - higher league positions and competition runs increase prize monies and tv revenues and in turn higher sponsorship etc etc

I really wish the faux accountants would pack it in. You dont value your assets purely on purchase price and final NBV or else no-one would buy anything ever. You analyse what they brought to the business during their use. He was clearly bought for this purpose and not for a PSR "win". Burn - if we were to let him go for free this year, would you say we'd made a £15m loss? Fuck no - he's helped deliver higher league positions and champions league which bring huge ££ benefits. And then how much do you value a trophy and the feel good factor to the fans? Wissa - if he replaces a good % of Isaks goals for the next 4 years, it could/will result in the same as the above and the financial benefits would hopefully outweigh some of his fee. Not to mention players dont die at 33 We may well recoup some cost. He might tank of course, but I'll reserve my judgement until he's actually kicked a ball for us and beyond

This all day. If he helps us secure European football each year then he's worth the ££. Not all about player trading
-
We really need a miserable **** sub-forum. Reading this place is awful at times - same old shit in each thread and is boring as fuck...forget which one I'm reading sometimes
-
They've lost their best 2 players so I'd rather not thanks. Unless you're only bothered about winning the ££ transfer window of course but I prefer the actual game itself. Do you think Brentford fans are happy with their business?
-
150m for someone who's scored 1 goal in the Champ League? This place would be going mental about overpaying if was flipped Seen people talk about Wissa's lack of European football which is pretty ironic
-
Core, imagine how Liverpool feel with Isak then, the fucking mugs

You referred to them not meeting the basic terms of the conditions in their statement and I didn't think they'd made any clear ones. If you're assuming based on the media then cool, but its just as likely that Nick W and the fees received were the conditions. Doesn't matter much though but it would be interesting to hear from the club at some point. Personally, I suspect it's somewhere in middle and Isaks continued stance maybe softened their view but don't think its a complete climbdown
