Would rather 90m to go abroad than 100m+ from a PL club.

Anthony GoALdon!!!!!!!!!!!

Really needed some footage of the interview so we could analyse the fuck out of his body language. There would have been no hiding once his own body betrays how much he hates Eddie and what a control freak/narcissist he is

I'm not really spending much time on it to be honest as I'm not privy to all of the facts. Though I never said we couldn't strengthen - on the contrary I'm sure we could have to a degree. But I don't know why they decided not to. How could I, or, anyone outside know? Unless they tell us of course but I guess some people won't believe them anyway as they/you aren't "bothered" what they say as it's spin. Nowt wrong with speculation of course and it's half the fun of supporting a club. Moving from one target after being rebuffed to another isn't "very" flexible mind you. Maybe they didn't like the 3/4/5 choices and decided to wait to get Guehi next year. Again, we can't know. It's a marathon not a sprint etc and they're thinking 10 years ahead whereas they're lucky if many fans can see past 5 months to the next window

It was pretty grim though maybe some benefit of the doubt given it was probably a pretty hard game to come into, in terms of getting up to speed and under a lot of pressure at the time.
-
It's not the only thing that makes sense at all considering Eddie himself said that we may opt not to spend money for the sake of it. So it may be there, but decision was made not to spend as couldn't get our highlighted targets. Whether or not we should have moved to lower targets is a completely different scenario mind you
-
No, I don't believe I did but maybe so. I just don't get why anyone thinks it's particularly fair to drag the club over the coals over a potentially rough 7 months (impact of which has yet to be seen on the pitch) when they have delivered us years of improvement and rescued us from Ashley. Even if they have erred, then they deserve the chance to resolve. IF issues are still present come this time next year, then that's maybe fair . But we can all support (or not as the case may be) the club how we see fit.

Why is January the cutoff? Are the years of goodwill and progress beforehand wiped out? Ashworth and Stavely leaving has potentially caused some disruption but let's give the club some time to settle down into a new structure. So we might stay static for a season, I think they deserve that time and static now is infinitely better than before they came. What's the worst that's going to happen? If we have issues after next summer then that's a different conversation.

3/10 but that is mainly due to having to read incessant whinging of outraged, fickle fans than any actual transfers themselves.
-
Maybe in the good old days, but you can't just waste what funds we have for the sake of it. I also have absolute faith that our players have one of the best team spirits in the league. If you mean fans mood, then that is frankly their problem and can't dictate club policy.
-
Just not the personnel they want - as he said, if the right person isn't available then maybe doing nothing is the best option.
-
The issue wasn't this stage last season, it was the mid and latter stages with injuries, Tonali suspended and Trips wobble. We are currently in a far better position than the end of season. Livra and Hall are more developed, Tonali back, JL and Barnes back from injury and hopefully Trips back focussed.
-
It's reporter BS. If the club wanted to, then they would have but for some reason they opted not to. Maybe key targets weren't available and they don't want to settle with someone they'll be stuck with for 5 years.
-
I don't think just playing in Europe is enough at some point - top tier players like Bruno and Isak will want to be winning it and we're years off that due to the financial restrictions. I wouldn't be surprised if we've given them "gentlemans" agreements (hate that expression) that we won't stand in their way if they decide to move on. I also wouldn't be surprised if secretly the club would be happy with the huge financial benefits it would bring to let one go...Bruno especially is a real FFP game changer
-
But why does it have to make sense to any of us? They make the decisions based on what they think is best, not just for this season, but for 2,5, 10 years ahead. If they deem the structure has failed, then I'm sure they'll change it....a new DOF is a huge job and new ways of working need to be established. EH may decide to doesn't want to work like that and maybe he'll opt to leave. Who knows, we aren't privy to the facts.
-
I don't particularly think we do but fair enough.
-
So why do you think they aren't going for anyone else? Do we think they are incompetent and useless?
-
Fraid so, we'll be top 6 by then anyway so won't matter
-
If they have decided that Guehi is their number 1 target who will be with us for the best part of a decade, they may opt to wait year and try again from a stronger position of his 1 year left contract wise. I'd love to bring someone in as it's exciting and I'm sure there are players that would make some some improvement but I'd rather hold for the 1st choice than a backup for the sake of it. I think our 1st team is more than sufficient to get a European space this season. I don't think any player would get us top 4 at the mo. Could we lose Bruno or Isak? Yeah, but think we will anyway. I can't imagine they want to just play in the Champions League, they will want to win it and we aren't coming to be close to that for years. Plus it's pretty clear that with the financial restrictions, selling is out key revenue earner.

We heard you the first 10 times.
-
They're furious about the fee, blaming the club and citing various lesser players going to other PL clubs for more.....all well and good, but why aren't these other clubs in for him?? They struggle to grasp these simple concepts and it's hilarious
-
Hopefully the drop in form was due to personal issues and we don't have to write him off just yet. If he's got his head straight and gets back to his best (10 assists in 28 games last season ) then might buy us another season without the RW upgrade - Almiron/Murphy allows him to get up the pitch more. I love Tino, but there'll be plenty of game time to share between them I'm sure.
-
You don't think every club has a significant element of the fanbase that are spoilt/bedwetters? We are not better or worse than anyone else and it's part of football. No point pretending otherwise. Honestly, I'll be disappointed if we don't strengthen as I want us to be the best we can be. But I can understand why it may not happen and I won't disrespect the owners who have done so much for us by saying they've failed.
-
Of course they are man 😂 And of course it's the clubs overall aim. Just clearly going to take longer than maybe they'd hoped. I think they deserve some leeway myself.
