It's the vaccuum that's killing people and causing them to amplify dozens of little fuck-alls into seismically important considerations. None of us are entitled to know anything that's going on, not sure why people think we are or that they have the first idea how long this could be expected to take Erm, maybe because Staveley told Caulkin to tell the fans that it would be complete in the next few days, back towards the end of April ffs Fucking hell, stop going on about Staveley. You disappear when all looking positive and then pop back up when there is a any negativity and whine that it's Staveley's fault. Repeatedly. Because Im sick of so many of you having a hissy fit as soon as someone dares to post something that doesn't go along the lines of "this is happening, Im sure of it". So your answer is to make everyone else sick of your inane, hissy fits about Amanda Staveley

Sean will believe it was his nemesis Staveley

I'm not sure how these checks work, but they may not have to conform to the same requirements per other legal matters - in the same way civil and criminal cases have differing burdens of proof. Obviously they'll have some formal process which would hopefully be subject to a legal challenge (fairly sure someone has in the past?)

Come on MBS, get a wiggle on and imprison a group of rogue executives acting in secrecy and completely of their own accord.

To be fair to Donald, he was so close to the perfect score. If they'd won that playoff final, he would have made a packet and be seen as a king by the MLFs. He lost a relative fortune with one kick

Anyone with pride would just walk/offer to take redundancy on the basis that they aren't the right person to take the club all the way forward. I kind of hope he ends up like that guy in office space where they keep moving his desk until he ends up in the boot room wondering why he isn't getting paid after his 2 years is up.

I've always taken the view that roughly: Start of a month - 1st to 10th Mid month - 11th to 20th End of month - 21st to end

It seems to all boil down to how reliable his sources are. It doesn't really bare thinking about about what happened 2 1/2 years ago. His source is almost certainly Stavely or someone very close to her, considering he’s the one journalist who interviewed her. Yep, it was last time also though. She led him to believe she was going to buy us, then the next thing was Ashley's "timewaster" statement. I hope its a happier ending this time. His interview with Stavely was after it had already fallen apart last time. She was Caulkins "source" throughout that whole affair, just as she is now. Ok. I’m not entirely sure of the point you’re attempting to make? My point, or my worry, is that Staveley is saying Ashley has no way of scuppering this deal now. Ashley's side have planted something via Luke Edwards that by the end of this week "something could happen" if this isn't complete. Now we hear it won't be complete this week. I hope Staveley is correct in that it is a "done deal", but we've been here so many times in the past (including once with Staveley herself), only for it to unravel. I have some doubts that it's as simple as she is leading us to believe. Ok, your point (based partially on Luke Edwards ) has been made. Feel free not to make it another 10 times.

I’m not entirely sure of the point you’re attempting to make? He just wants to be able to say "I told you so" if it does go wrong. I bet if you look at his number of posts made when all looked positive vs now there are delays, I suspect the contrast will be telling.

We were there, we know.

Tbf to him after having re-read his initial tweets and then his responses to various people. He seems to be referring to the media's indulgence of the cans meme, rather than the fans themselves excitement over it. I still feel like he's taking his argument to extremes but it does seem to be meant in a different way to how most have initially taken it. But even still what’s the problem with the media indulging in the #cans meme? He is generally right but he needs to pick his battles better. because in his opinion the media should be asking questions about the kind of people taking over the club and their track record and not blindly cheerleading Is this the guy from the Independent because as I posted before he didn't seem to have any problems when they were linked with a 4 billion bid for his beloved man u https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/manchester-united-sale-saudi-arabia-interest-reports-latest-buy-club-mohammad-bin-salman-a8586866.html Unfortunately the very well publicised assassination of the journalist has increased the scrutiny. Think that article was written just after the incident actually, but all of the facts came out after and was a major world wide story for quite some time. Before that, I can imagine your average Joe wouldn't have given a shit, now it's really highlighted the more unsavoury aspects of the regime.

I think everyone's being a bit unfair to them. This is the real reason for their interest in sports - NOT sportwashing! But no, that isn't "sexy" enough news HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Faisal. "We want to get people more engaged in sport," he said. "In 2015 just 13% of Saudis took part in sports for half an hour or more each week; we want that to be 40% by 2030. This is all part of a programme designed to get people more active."

I think you either accept it or you don't, as soon as you start the discussion on morality then you begin from a losing position, as the negatives of the regime currently outweigh the positives. Trying to justify if or overtly celebrating it (please no headscarves ) is just painting us in a bad light. Is anyone justifying or celebrating human rights abuses ffs? What absolute nonsense. People are overtly celebrating the departure of the club's horrible owner to be replaced by extremely wealthy new owners. The two issues ARE separate and people will eventually have to come down off their high horses when the realisation of their hypocrisy sets in. Alright, calm down I didn't mention human rights abuses and you have misunderstood. By justifying it, I am referring to those who are responding to peoples criticisms by mentioning Saudi investments in twitter, Uber, UK trade etc. People ARE doing this, and I think it's a non starter and we shouldn't engage. Celebrating - I will absolutely celebrate Ashley going, didn't say I wouldn't. I won't directly celebrate the Saudi involvement with pro chants, banners etc. Not seeing anyone will, but think it's a bad show if they do. Hopefully that clears it up for you

Muslims think the western world is a moral cesspit. Horrific generalisation fail.

Who wrote it? The article is bang on It's really not, with this section being the shittest: "City employ the best coach in the world and play the most beautiful football many of us have ever seen in this country and therefore our attitude towards the regime in the UAE starts to soften. Sports reporters like me say we are separating the beauty of the football from the regime that is financing it but the cunning of sportswashing lies in the fact that by reporting on the enchantment of the entertainment City provide, we are creating a subliminal link to the state that has facilitated that entertainment. By doing our job, we are doing their bidding, too." I spare no thought to the regime in UAE when City do well, never mind my attitude softening. And as for subliminal messaging - WTF is he going on about. I'm not saying the underlying point doesn't have merit, but that article is utter drivel. Well the article is drivel because if your bias and view. point. I agree with most of it. I usually base my opinions on my viewpoint, unless the articles of the Daily Mail subliminally persuade me otherwise.

I'd prefer if they'd remain fairly quiet behind the scenes as it wouldn't be something I'm particularly proud of but I'll be supporting us regardless. I do find the dressing up malarky a tad distasteful on reflection but thats probably slightly hypocritical.

I still eat bacon but when I think about little piglets it makes me sad and I feel bad. So I just don't think about them. Simples!

Think F1 are in negotiations for a Saudi Arabian GP and the Joshua Ruiz 2 fight was hosted there. This is obviously a far more direct link so not quite as relevant, but I didn't think anything of watching the boxing and would watch the F1 (if it wasn't fucking dull).

Maybe just copy and paste the text of it for us

I'm confused, how will this tie in with PFI??
