was sitting in the library with the youth cup game on and the bloke who worked there saw and came over saying how he supports us and grew up in hartlepool. found it hillarious after reading about all their catchment area shite. mag in a library
  2. kin hell I thought this whole lowering of ambition by ashley and co was a load of guff but apparently not. I dont care if they just beat barcelona last week crystal palace is a game we most definitely should be winning, comfortably at that

Did Wolfy ever come back, that lad was hilarious Aye, he's still around. I love his posts-funny as feck. I suppose a better question would've been did he ever leave.

  5. Pardew was exactly the same as he usually is, Man U aside. Just so happens that remy missed chances. In that respect it isn't pardews fault but we really should be closing out games better, so overall this, in conjunction with many other performances, is pardews fault. He's got it in him looking at the Manchester game, which makes it all the more frustrating.

must be, looks more than 140 characters to me
  7. howay its not like hes some kid from london deciding to support liverpool, a foreigner (you are from iran right..) is hardly going to pick wigan or someone to support just so they dont win anything on purpose
  8. It's not a joke rooted in racism, it's a joke rooted in racial differences, which do exist, and are sensitive areas to joke about. The problem is people jump to racism whenever racial differences are mentioned, implying there's something wrong about it when there's nothing wrong with the fact black people look different to white people, to suggest otherwise is more racist. It's just stupidity with a racial context, not a racist context.
  9. Racism is alive and kicking in many parts of the world and makes life a misery for many, but to label this as the same thing that sees people killed and beaten up elsewhere is almost as stupid as bringing up slavery and colonialism. we've moved on ffs. this isn't racism is just fuckwittery.
  10. tbf he probably thinks that because he's cheik tiote, regardless of profession
  11. Currently have anichebe taking up a whopping 5.2 mil on the bench. Worth taking out baines for some no mark cheap defender playing 3 at the back and swapping anichebe for aguero?

    Football pet hates

If they moved to Madrid from somewhere else in Spain I'd be inclined to agree with you, but seeing as they have no link to any of the three clubs I don't see how it makes much difference which they choose to support.
  13. Judging how well they do elsewhere, Im sure they could do a lot better then the fat man child and his trashy sportswear company. Hovering itself all over the premiership with its stink. You're probably right about that, I would just expect people to be a bit sceptical about football clubs being bought by non-football brands for promotional purposes. But surely it's just common sense to build a successful club if you want to use it to promote your brand? It's not going to do much for your image if you are hovering between mid-table and the relegation spots every season. Probably depends how much it costs. If you run a serious business then investing in the image is a necessary cost. I'm sure M&S could buy a lot cheaper fixtures and fittings from ebay, but they want to portray a quality image so their stores are fitted out to the highest standards. I don't see why you would want to buy a football club to raise awareness of your brand unless you wanted it to be in a good light. Yeah, but what I mean is, it's all about return on investment. You might decide spending £200m on buying the club is enough, and the extra £200m to compete at the top isn't worth it. Obviously they'd very likely be 'better' than Ashley in a lot of ways, especially considering how much we now hate him. Well the extra £200m clearly isn't worth the investment to Ashley, but from the sounds of it, it is to RB

    Alan Pardew

judging by some of these comments the man is more useless than previously thought, he cant even get himself sacked
  15. Anyone think it's worth a small punt on Panama tonight? I know mexico are up against it but panama have beaten them twice already this year and 10.00 seems quite generous
  16. I think most would agree that it's an inappropriate comment for radio, but slapping the label racist on anything that is related to race really detracts from the power that such a word deserves. If he was truly the foaming racist some want him to be he wouldn't have signed him
  17. Making me play the best friend is black card but I live with a Nigerian, Sri Lankan and a Greek, we make cracks at each other like what hall said all the time, does that make me or any of them racist? No. Just because it's not something you'd say to a stranger doesn't make it racist. I wouldn't call an ugly bastard I didn't know ugly, but that's just because I'm not rude. Hardly different.
  18. Nah you're right, if someone made a negative connotation about a white person I would check my birth certificate to make sure they weren't specifically talking about me then decide whether or not I am allowed to be offended. It is natural to only be offended by things directed at you after all. I'm sure if a mackem came up to you and insulted Sir Bobby you would step back and think "Well I'm not Bobby Robson so I can't really be offended". I never said they couldn't be offended.
  19. Unless you mean that because two people are black it means they must share views on things, such as racism
  20. The ones who scream racism at the very mention of colour, such as alex and santoon above, probably others elsewhere but I didn't take notes. Someone earlier made an excellent analogy with height and a window I don't remember it but it was spot on Do you know anything of their backgrounds? Also if we signed a black player and someone's first comment was "Fuck me, he's black as the ace of spades!" would you honestly not think they were a bit racist? Or does it not apply to kitchen appliances? My opinion wouldn't change if I knew they where white, black, yellow or green. I don't see what you're getting at Surely if it is a black person getting offended about a joke about black people they aren't getting offended on someone else's behalf? The joke was about les Ferdinand, if either of them are les Ferdinand I'll appreciate their input.

  22. Portuguesa v goias home win Ht/ft looks good value, last six home games were all won by half time Although last nights results from Brazil have me nervous

  24. No you said it was racist. I don't think anyone's arguing that it isn't a silly/wrong/insensitive comment but the word racist gets thrown about far too much, usually, as someone mentioned, by dogooders who aren't at the receiving end of said "racism"
