Nee way. Pardew is responsible for poor set pieces. The rest is down to the players themselves. And hoofball. Don't forget the hoofball.
  2. "Alan, would you say that the Yohan situation is similar to the recent BBC iPad controversy? What would David Frost do?" Pards is weird, man part of me is starting to find it funny on the back of a couple wins. Whatever you think of the bloke there's no denying he loves the sound of his own voice.
  3. Coutinho out for at least 6 weeks: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24144463 Means he'll miss the game against us...

Looks like we could be seeing some classic macktracking from Paulo....
  5. Looks like that Okore lad could be out for the season: http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/aston-villa-defender-jores-okore-2278169?

He was asked. Interviewer: Why is Cabral not playing? PDC: He's shite.

Cabral not part of Di Canio's plans http://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sport/10676034._/? Actual quotes: "Obviously little Vaughany is not a physical presence, but he’s more sharp, even if he did not play very well against Arsenal. "But in the last two games he was one of the best. He is sharp and can interpret the game in England better than Cabral, who is slow paced. "It doesn’t mean that he won’t play in the future but it’s very difficult for him, I have to be honest. Maybe one day, if he can show me that he understands his football, then yes. "Otherwise, in the middle, the heart of the game, especially against top sides, we will get beaten. At this moment, Cabral has got difficulties" And we think Pardew's quotes to the press are bad!

    Alan Pardew

somebody will be along to explain this away. Shit manager only plays hoof ball you see. Looks like Moyes has got Man Utd playing some serious hoofball

Rock bottom now and Di Canio clear favourite in the sack race - safe to say they haven't had the best of starts...
  10. Haven't seen anything of Hull this season so just been checking out their side - this is who they started against Cardiff: 01 McGregor 03 Figueroa 05 Chester 06 Davies 27 Elmohamady 08 Huddlestone 10 Koren 11 Brady 14 Livermore 09 Graham 24 Aluko Doesn't look like too much to worry about there tbh, although Danny Graham is due a goal....

Still can't quite believe this lad plays for us, he's just fucking brilliant.
  12. Smacks of the regime trying to win games in order to get the fans back on side. Sickening tactics.
  13. A win would be lovely but for me this game is all about the performance, if we can pick up where we left off against Fulham then it bodes well for the rest of the season, if it's more if the same old ultra-cautious shite then it's going to be pretty depressing.

    Loïc Remy

Remy's goalscoring record over the last few years is pretty impressive - if him and Cisse can click we might have something special on our hands.

    Alan Pardew

That would make sense. I know people have it in for Pardew for various reasons, but ultimately the single best thing for him is a team that's winning games, same as for us. I think his contradictory press statements are a small symptom of a much wider problem.
  16. Think he'll go with: Debuchy - MYM - Colo - Santon HBA - Sissoko - Cabaye - Jonas Remy - Cisse
  17. Went to the entertainers rematch last year and the standard of actual football was pretty shoddy tbh - Rob Lee had put on about 5 stone and Shearer could barely move. Not really about that though, there'll be plenty banter with the crowd and a few daft moments when players try do things their bodies won't let them anymore - crowd atmosphere is the main thing really, hope everyone is really up for it.
  18. Would take a draw here but expect a narrow defeat.

Robert was absolutely fantastic mind. Everyone remembers his long range shooting but he also had a wicked cross on him - pace, spin and dip, when he got them right they were impossible to defend.

    Shola Ameobi

Get in Shola lad - really pleased for him.
  21. Can't believe that in January it'll be 3 years since we sold him - time has flown by. 50 million on transfer fees and 18 goals in all that time, what a waste man.
  22. Fucking hell, just caught up with the last few pages Guess we now have a much clearer grasp on why our commercial revenues are dropping while every bugger else's is shooting up. Cheeky cunt.

    Sunderland

Finished 17th last year, their 3 best players were Mignolet, Rose & Sessegnon who have all now gone and have been replaced by what would appear to be a cartload of random shite. Looks like it's going to be a race to the bottom again this year in NE football.
  24. Reports this morning that Man Utd didn't get the Coentrao deal done in time? Looking forward to seeing Ozil in the Premier league, especially in his first game against the mackems....
  25. Even if he takes back 20 million a year we're still looking at least 5 or 6 years before it gets down to a realistic value for anyone to be interested in buying.
