To be honest I don't think it's unreasonable to have a solid defensive midfielder when the rest of your front 6 are so attack-minded - I would imagine that's where Tiote will slot in when he gets back. Perch is solid enough when all he has to do is put a foot in then pass it.

Like it - is it 4-3-3 do you know?

That's exactly what the Villa fans are saying about this match as well!

Terry's not the best example eh? Didn't he cuckold a teammate? That's a true leader man, takes charge on and off the pitch.

What if it's a draw?

They play Delph in there and Westwood I think, not what I would call athletic Delph got injured in the cup didn't he? Says late fitness test on Physio Room. If he doesn't make it I would imagine Bannan will play.

Couldn't be any worse than some of the other stuff we've tried.

That's what I reckon will happen. Would honestly be baffling for him to start Taylor. Yanga-Mbiwa has exactly the right type of temperament to come in to things straight away. I think a factor will be how shit Villa are at defending corners and that Taylor is probably our biggest threat from them. Plus Taylor already has a decent understanding with Colo and they've always done very well as a partnership. Not saying I fully agree, just that I can see where he's coming from if that's how he plays it.

That will be an interesting one for sure - people (including me) have been assuming he'll always pick Jonas because he likes his workrate, but in terms of form and forward momentum we actually now have some serious alternatives...

Tomorrow night's team sheet is going to be one of the most eagerly awaited in a long while...
-
I would agree with that like - seen some daft comments from people suggesting he'll play Williamson against Villa - the bloke isn't blind, he knows Willo's limitations as well as the rest of us, he's just had zero alternatives for the position lately.

The impending return of Hatem Ben Arfa, who may even return in time for the trip to Tottenham on February 9, adds another option up front. Read more: Journal Live http://www.journallive.co.uk/nufc/newcastle-united-news/2013/01/28/61634-32692108/?#ixzz2JG5tdeTy

Well this is another pleasant surprise - looks like we really are in the market for another top striker! Haven't seen much of this lad but I do like a big old bruiser of a centre forward - would certainly put an end to any Carroll rumours I would imagine.

Vieira and Henry were the only regulars of The Invincible team albeit they had a few in reserve. Also had Bergkamp, Ljungberg, Cole, Campbell, Lehmann & Gilberto all from distinctly different football upbringings whose first language wasn't Francais. And Pires

I think there's a decent chance only Gouffran will be in from the start.

What about Wigan? They've got a really tricky set of games coming up...

Reckon Norwich could be in quite a bit of trouble - they were on a dodgy run already, today has to be a big blow to their confidence.

QPR comeback is underway

Have QPR got a strong side out?

That was for the 2010/11 season: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/queens-park-rangers/9177492/Queens-Park-Rangers-count-56-million-cost-of-joining-the-Premier-League-elite.html Goodness knows what it will be at now.

Now that is excellent news.

Happy enough with that tbh - Taylor is still an enormous improvement on Willo and gives us the set-piece threat Villa are so vulnerable to. Would love if if Sissoko is straight into the midfield too.
