But there's clearly been talk of a striker, that was the original argument. Not the likelihood of each rumour.
-
well, since the window opened the press have continually linked us to Lacazette, Remy, Dost, Grey, Carroll, Berahino and a few others.
-
there's been mention of a striker practically every day of this window.

That Jan window we signed Sissoko, Debuchy etc effectively kept us in the league that season.
-
A stupid idea which has not only created more negativity but highlighted something we all already knew anyway - which is that our fringe players are probably the poorest in the league. If the idea was to get these players fit, then get the fuck in, Riviere & Gouffran can be considered for action.
-
Leeds were totally skint when they went down, they HAD to sell. We're the 17th richest club in the world at present. Big players like Wijnaldum, Sissoko, Perez will go, but imo the majority will stick around for a season to see if we can get straight back up (unless there's clauses in there)
-
Alternatively its squad depth with decent players?
-
Just flicked through episode 1. Its on that blokes youtube history. Its fucking cringeworthy, with Pardew topping it off. I wonder if production will suddenly cease if this shocking run gets worse.
-
I never got the impression he disliked the club, quite the opposite, despite being a mercenary. He seemed to enjoy it here, knew the fans loved him. However we were a mess, then Liverpool were linked and that was that. Cant blame him for talking to them and then signing for Chelsea. If he wants to stay in London then Palace are his best bet, but they're still strongly linked with Adebayor. I don't think he'd be as unwilling as some think to come back here.
-
If he's in goal when they play us he will be a nervous wreck. Doubt we'd take advantage of it though.
-
I hope we get him tbh, he's not a world beater but as mentioned can pass a ball in the general right direction and is a decent player imo. Not a leader though, and we're devoid of them, and the problems upfront remain even if he does come to Newcastle. Desperate for that striker.

Like I say, he picked the wrong game to flounce around in then pretending to be hurt, and certainly the wrong area of the pitch. It's not like the team came over at the end and clapped yet he was the only one who got booed. It is harsh, and you don't want to see players and fans in spats, but this is now the situation we are in. If Thauvin is upset, he could maybe read a bit about whats gone on at this club the last few years. None of it to do with him, but absolutely the reason supporters are utterly fed up with everything regarding this football club... reactions like this will happen. If the season continues like this it won't only be Thauvin subjected to it either.
-
Out of interest, who is? None of them, and I wudnt have been arsed if these chants had gone to any of our players
-
He probably isn't but I wouldn't write someone off after barely seeing five minutes of him. How many foreign players of his type have looked hopeless in their first season in England only to become stars later on? It's just plain ignorant. Difference is of course that most others clubs are in a position where a little patience can be afforded. This club is fresh out of that. Honestly, if he's completely useless and rolls around in front of the supporters, it's not a surprise he gets some stick. Like I said before, it isn't singling him out for the teams problems, it's an exponential frustration among supporters that he extracted out with stupid antics, at a time when we need the polar opposite of what he currently provides.
-
Ahh but its different when your fans favourite player does it. So many hypocrites in our support. Name a fans favourite who has done what Thauvin allegedly did? Tbf Perez did something similar (going down and staying down for no reason when the match carried on) at Bournemouth in front of the away fans, and tbf he got pelters off most the fans for it and all- and he'd already scored what turned out to be the only goal of the game!!! Suppose the big difference is we weren't desperate for an equaliser with 3 minutes left at the time. Aye, doing it when your a goal up to preserve a lead is somewhat different.
-
He's not really being made a scapegoat though is he. The fans are completely pissed off and he's bore the brunt of their frustration by acting like a complete tart. It's not his fault our stupid policy brought him to the club, and he's not to blame for everything thats gone on here, but the away support yesterday decided he isn't fit for purpose, and if we're being honest he probably isn't.
-
Rest In Peace Pavel. Never forget players like you.

really aint sure wether I wanna watch this.

I actually don't mind McClaren. An ok bloke and he never greases up to his bosses like Pardew seemed to do on a weekly basis, and he seems to get what Newcastle should be about. But thats not enough. A decent coach maybe, but out of his depth at top level management. When the pressure is on and results go badly under him, he seems to completely lose control of the situation and it unravels very quickly. I really don't know where the club go from here. We could sack him tomorrow but who sorts out this bunch of idiots that dare call themselves professional footballers.
-
Love this lads desire and work ethic.
-
A below average manager who's lost the dressing room. A dressing room which is just full of utter bottlers.
-
I'm the same, seems an ok bloke but he's just not up to it.
-
That change of system and personnel at half time was just utter blind panic and guess work. Got what it deserved.
