  1. shame as it’s the sort of creative player we’re crying out for. The other tat City want to offload we shouldn’t entertain.
  2. I’d be asking for Marmoush if any cash plus player deal is suggested, unlikely I know.
  3. If the players spit their dummies out because they were booed off on Sunday then that only strengthens the theory that they didn't get the significance of this fixture. And I wonder if they still don't. They'll have to get on with it, paid outrageous sums of money to get turned over twice by your arch rivals, a team in your heads you think you're superior too. The supporters are the last people to blame for that and have given these players some incredible support for the last 4 years. Eddie needs to sort it out of course but he's been badly let down by his players imo. How quickly he tried to shoot down the question regarding if they underestimated Sunderland I thought was telling. I doubt he did, but I'm not sure same can be said of those who played, with further suspicion raised by Anthony Gordons arrogant post match comments.
  4. who is Dan Stapleton?
  5. I wonder if he will be on a kind of stay of execution / trial in these remaining games. If they start getting results and look convincing in doing so he could keep his job, as well as getting some support back on his side. There's no doubt though in my mind that if we limp to the finishing line with a few more losses, playing the some of the most predictable football in the league, a section of our fans will completely lose it (rightly or wrongly) and he will be sacked.
  6. It's either this or wholesale squad changes, but i don't think this is as simple as we would like. The desperation the see the likes of Willock, Pope, Kraft and co leave is understandable, but getting all the deadwood out in a PSR world will be very difficult and thats not even considering our truly good players leaving. Do you stick with to Eddie oversee all this going into next season or do you let someone new take the reins in what is bound to be another summer of chaos. The situation reminds a little bit of Pochettino at spurs, in that change is a significant risk but kind of forced as the manager's stint had run its course.
  7. I do wonder if he's even getting through to the players any more, or if the whole thing is too nice behind closed doors and he's treating them like good mates. The unserious half arsed nature of our performances is incredible. They play like the just have to turn up in a lot of these games, a whiff of arrogance with it. I get the volume of games is high, but we've been playing poor really since the first game, and a few warning signs were there last season too in spite of the cup success. If we're honest the football is abysmal to watch. He is a Newcastle legend and a credit to his profession and how he conducts himself, in a sea of clowns that occupy seats at other clubs. I'm torn now as the club probably are, if now is the time to change. The next appointment would have to be a real head turner, to bring the club onto the next level. Otherwise you risk status quo, or worse.
  8. He reffed the Chelsea home game and didn’t give the most obvious penalty in the history of football.
  9. When you flesh out the work needed on the squad it really does, ins and outs, it's a big concern. How many windows excluding the last one have we been inactive? Its showing.
  10. Agreed, he deserves the chance to turn this around but he will need some results soon. We all use the term 'full control', but between a sporting director and manager this is just a synonym for transfer targets. It was clear from day 1 that Howe and Mitchell weren't aligned. Both publicly doing interviews about how they see the direction of the club. Mitchell wasn't brought in to scout the likes of Mbuemo or Cunha, but if the manager predominantly wants premier league experience then you're presented with an impasse. How much groundwork, conversation, and scouting was actually done from the beginning to the end of Mitchells reign is anyones guess. I would suggest little. We lost 4-2 away to Brentford in December of last season, and were playing not too dissimilar to how we are now. I sometimes wonder if that run of results had carried on then we would have made a change and Mitchell would have got his way. We went on a crazy run and won a cup, and there was only one winner after that.
  11. I find it odd too. Maybe the Celtic offer and how it collapsed gives us a clue. Could a compromise have been reached there? My feeling is he's fussy to the point of difficult. Of course people will have their own view if this is a good or bad thing. My own opinion is that when he first got the job he was willing to let the club do things as they saw fit, with Staveley as his ally, and on the crescendo of the takeover. As he's gained more success and fan support he's tried to carve out his own vision, the further his feet get under the table. Staveley leaving hasn't helped things at all from his point of view.
  12. Is it not more that he had plenty of clout at Bournemouth so is used to that way of working?

    Yoane Wissa

Cisse would stick away the chances Wissa is getting with his eyes shut. Of the flaws in his game finishing was certainly not one.
  14. I've been critical of Howe, and I just feel he is probably difficult to work for / with, but I still agree with this. Did the ownership rate the managers work so highly, that they let him have the responsibility without thinking he'll need support? Everyone has theories, but it's all been such a mess. Collectively no one is coming out looking good.
  15. We are playing garbage and have been nearly all season. You’re not questioning the managers future if you’re questioning where the team is heading.
  16. Obviously you get this type of supporter in every fanbase, but this doesn't mean others can't constructively criticise if thats their opinion, and it's not like it's unwarranted. Are we supposed to 'enjoy' losing to Sunderland and playing terrible doing so? Every fan worth their salt knows this is light years ahead of the Ashley days and heaven forbid we return to anything similar, and Eddie and his players have received so much love from the fans. But it can't all be one way all the time, this is how football is.
  17. Isn’t that the opposite to what Eddie claimed?
  18. The Sunderland home game sticks out at one he really does need to win.
  19. Might we need to sell though is maybe the question.
  20. The questions about our recruitment and the summer gone are plentiful. Who's idea was it to go after Marc Guehi and no one else relentlessly in 24 when it was obvious Palace were taking us for a ride? What exactly was discussed between manager, owners, sporting director about transfers in the 12 months after? Was there any pre planning or collective agreement about targets? Mitchells exit and us going for a slew of players seeking cartel wages strongly suggests not. If this was true, what were PIF doing to allow the situation to worsen?
  21. I stand corrected if this is indeed true about his influence in transfers coming in. Odd mind that a guy with such a hit rate was moved to players going out.
  22. This doesn’t change my opinion though. I believe Nickson is picking the players from abroad.
  23. No, it’s just my opinion that Woltemade and Thiaw were likely the result of long scouting.
  24. we signed those after working our way down the list, and they’ve the better of our summer signings. Both Thiaw and Woltemade scream Nickson picks too, not Eddie’s
