They are both horrendous

Lucien Favre new Nice manager. Good appointment for them.
-
Not really. It's not a case of him just agreeing and signing a contract. If he's staying then they're having to restructure the club from top to bottom and there will be people going and people coming in. That takes some sorting out. Probably the most complex contract they've wrote up since Ashley's been here. Plus budgets' clauses, lawyers. Its complicated shit.

He could win us a trophy.
-
9 out of 10 managers and i'd say a. But honestly swaying towards b. If anyone can knock some sense into Ashley its Benitez
-
The club are in a position now they've never been in, someone else giving them the terms. They have to relinquish total control otherwise he'll leave and they probably don't know what to do.
-
Good ones? The youth academy isnt exactly churning out the next Shearer or Gazza's.
-
West Brom away in the FA cup. James Linnington i think he was called.
-
I hope not. Its rancid. same, its not stripes ffs.
-
Ceiling is very high for his ability, currently very little. Such a frustrating player; one of the most enjoyable players to watch when he's flying. I still think he'll go on to be a key player for a big club. Don't see it. Invisible when not scoring. If he goes to a more productive attacking team(where he can afford to slack off the odd game) he will be quality, he's a good player. His issue's here are about attitude, and taking responsibility when it was patently clear the side needed it. Put simply, he's not the sort of player you want if you're fighting to stay up.

Think Rafa may ask for the removal of Graham Carr, and I don't blame him.

Yup. There's a lot of fans out there jealous of us and no matter how much the attempt to deny it it's the truth. Why? Coz they know that with our support if we ever get it right on the pitch we'd be unstoppable. We might not have won the league under Keegan all them years back but when have Sunderland ever come close emulating something as amazing as that season? Or the countless times in Europe, or the amazing players we've had? Or our fucking phenomenal stadium and the legions that continually fill it. Their claim to world football is a beach ball and more recently a paedophile footballer. If Sunderland went down this season, no one would give a shit, if we go down the headlines will be widespread.

Montpellier won Ligue 1 a few seasons ago. Not quite as extraordinary as Leicester's achievement but it was impressive.
-
Which Everton aren't.

Also when Benitez was Liverpool manager, while we were mainly shite, we still had that identity and always felt like a huge club. Ashley has done his best to destroy that but Benitez will have remembered. He knows the potential of the club and knows where we should be. Managing a club like Palace is universally different to Newcastle, only have to look at Pardew as evidence. Benitez is a big club manager, and while its maybe understandable to be surprised he's joined us after his previous jobs, Newcastle's true level should be amongst that lot, with the obvious exception of Real Madrid.
-
Unless the money was obscene I doubt Benitez would manage Palace or West Brom for sake of managing in the Prem. We're a big club, thats why he's here.
-
Me too, but even if his stay his short he will have had an impact. On both players and how the club operates.
-
Immensely like this fella.
-
Did he? He got wrongly accused of an incident on a night out but don't think he had a bad reputation.
-
Come on man. Can't fault the reaction to something like that. He isnt. But they are still cringeworthy as fuck. This will dominate our screens for an eternity. Being bitter is part of being a fan tbh
-
can't abide them. I accept that was an amazing comeback but they just seem to have all the luck. It's in their DNA as a club.
-
fuck off. fucking hate football
