Actually nowt worse in modern footy than these glory hunters on twitter who've never been to a football game in their lives. The idiots saying 'he asked to leave so let him leave' entirely ignoring or not seeing the context of all this. He's a massively important figure who has only just joined, and he'll know the club inside out. But aye we'll let him go for fuck all to a club we're trying to overtake.
-
Already mentioned a ton of times but we really need to make this as difficult as we can and be utter c***s when it comes to the negotiations. They've all tried to bully us since the takeover, we need to dish a bit out.
-
You can't underestimate the absolute mess he must have walked into mind. I have no doubt he will have put real building blocks in place that will aid our academy very positively in the coming years. Didnt we make an absolute slew on youth scouting appointments across the country not long back? All the work of Ashworth no doubt. Doesn't mean I'm not pissed off with him like. First flutter of the eye lashes of a top 6 club and he's wanting out.

I’ve no time for Villa either or their attitude towards us, (although quite enjoy the rivalry we have sorta have with them). So yeh I much preferred it when they were being Bruced to oblivion in the Championship. But I can’t stand Spurs like. This forum has been awash with complaints about the cartel and they are at the heart of it. You just know Levy is spearheading every single attempt to derail our progression and get us back to what we were under Ashley, so if it’s a pick between the two then yes I’m picking Villa.

tbf id rather Villa get in than Spurs and that dick Levy.

He was also the catalyst for the deluge of new age football fans and the ridiculous money that now circulates in the prem. Of course it was all great at the time and the media were drooling over it, but if you were discussing the main problems in football today a lot of roads would lead back to Chelsea 2003 and beyond.

This is Chelsea in a nutshell. Or you say that a club that turned plastic has completely run its course. There's not a shred of honesty or authenticity about them.
-
A particularly bad night for Villa Watch and that other idiot on the sky fan show who screams like a banshee whenever we are mentioned.
-
Easy to say this after winning but I just had the feeling we'd get something tonight. Great win and good performance.

It was yes although I only know this by reading back on the game. I remember little aside from the late, late drama and how cold it was, the considerable intake of beer did nothing to stop my toes feel like they were gonna fall off. It was a great following that night but I'm not sure they gave us both stands, might just have been the lower one.

Doubtless a fair few on here were in the away end at Ewood in the 4-3 loss in the league cup. About 2012 ish? We played shite all match but scored two in stoppage time. Guthries goal I missed as I wasnt watching, the equaliser was just utter bedlam and I buckled my knee when Lovenkrands scored the pen in extra time, all this to see us lose with the last kick. Crazy away end that night in a crazy game. edit... it was back end of 2011.

The fuckers are 7th. Maybe if they actually got behind their new manager instead of being so relentlessly toxic about us, they might get somewhere.
-
I reckon he'll still have a huge influence in what goes on there and still be involved in some capacity. Unless he's truly jacking it in which would be clearly great news for all the other clubs.

Aye I've subscribed too, always makes me laugh. And never mind the food, what about the scotch he knocks back with absolutely no fuss whatsoever?? He seems sound like you say, typical north eastener. I actually discovered his videos whilst watching a propaganda episode of the square ball podcast, which is done by Leeds fans but is still a good watch. Highlighting this channel after the derby, the video is also worth checking out to watch Tyneside life's interviewing of Sunderland fans on the origins of the term Mackem, in Sunderland town centre. Runs into some unique people shall we say.

my fave toon kit, even though we were for the most part shite in it.
-
I agree - but some of this fanbase are asking for Hayden to go back in the team, you can't underestimate the effect Mourinho would have with his mouth alone. If he was getting results a good portion of fans would overlook the shite football - at least for a limited period. I'm in no way advocating for it - it would likely be a disaster. But if we didn't have Eddie a small part of me would probably be up for it.
-
There's two sides to it. He would without doubt create an immense siege mentality here and make us into the biggest shithouses in the league, something which we seem to lack despite last season. He would whip the support into such a frenzy that it would be box office viewing. Ultimately though he is universes past his best, beyond toxic, and his football is excruciatingly poor. Most clubs probably think he's just not worth the hassle, and him coming here would rip up everything we've set in place upto now. I don't think for one second it will happen mind.

Aye, of the three jewels in the crown Isak is the one I'd be most gutted to see go. The lad is elite. If they are contemplating letting one go then hopefully they go to an oversees club. Being forced to sell our best players to open up funds which we have anyway is bad enough but to see any of that shower of the top 6 get them would be nauseating.
-
The lad I work with is incredibly bitter over it and only strengthened what I'll always claim, that they hate us more than we hate them. The old own goal / mistake / penalty logic and then going on to claim that we are shite. What's actually happened is that deep down they'd convinced themselves they would beat us. They won't beat us again for an eternity. Biggest set of mongs going - 'FTM' ... their whole ethos is about hating another football club.
-
Plus if we're going down the lack of class route he's fixated on he would do well to remember Sunderland's piss taking when Newcastle's takeover was initially rejected. Club and fans alike, they absolutely revelled in it. And thats fine - they're local rivals - but you have to take the medicine when it's dished the other way. The team photo actually felt like a bit of payback tbh, a chance to really rub their faces in it after a long long wait.
-
I know, which highlights how bent it is.

I think we’ll have a summer window here that brings Martin Samuel’s recent article to the surface. The cartel going mad whilst we adhere to FFP as carefully as we can. Sick of seeing / hearing about it.
-
Ideally you want Blackburn beating Luton which puts them on 68. Then them and Millwall not drawing meaning one can’t be caught. Then hope if Sunderland win they don’t climb above Coventry on goals assuming they lose to Boro. So hopefully a Blackburn win on Monday, but they’re not exactly flying.
-
Been following the club for nearly 30 years and that was the most amazing rush iv ever felt. Was incredible. Not the result we wanted, but this is what being proud of your club feels like. Absolutely class.

my plans have changed somewhat so I’m selling my 2 tickets for the NX event if anyone is interested?
