Nah, football leagues have the best possible system. Total points champion, promotion/relegation, and tournaments on the side. However, it is pretty terrible to have the championship regularly determined with 6 weeks left in the season. I'd rather see parity measures than a format change though.

I'm not optimistic about the number of games they'll actually show. Having the rights to them and putting them on TV are two very different things. My guess is they'll show one or two each week and maybe have the rest on some fucked up pay-channel or something. However they set it up, I'm pretty confident I won't be able to watch Newcastle games on my super nice tv. It's just too good to be true.
