It didn’t take the players agents years to challenge the implementation of FIFA’s cap on fees etc worldwide. A Court in Germany and the UK ruled that it was against competition law and the gist of the ruling was that governing bodies should not involve themselves in the commercial activities of the agents. Other clubs should either change the rules or instigate legal action to either get rid of FFP and FMV or change how FFP is implemented. As for pissing of other clubs, well the other clubs hate us because of our takeover, fuck them, give them something to really hate us for.

Mind, I was surprised that we are just behind the cartel 6 in respect of turnover, although it’s significantly behind. The rest of the PL clubs are suffering massively to. Everyone is suffering apart from the cartel 6.

Stadium naming rights would bring in money…….but of course there’s those that think that would be a step to far!!

Darren Eales said in the article the club won’t legally challenge FFP?♂️ It’s going to take years to challenge the cartel clubs!!

It’s ideal for Metro and train links and as you say still in the centre of town and overlooking the Tyne.

Mine too………after that Castle Leazes

I know someone who works in planning………….all I will say is the Metro Arena site could be the answer, not a definite but it’s a contender?♂️

Why not, legal practise is also a business albeit a lucrative business and he’s just given the PL’s legal team a bloody nose in the Football agents case.

FIFA, UEFA and the PL wanted to impose caps on agents fees, rulings not just in English Courts but also German Courts ruled that governing bodies should not involve themselves in commercial activities, the agents winning there case as it was seen as a breach of competition law. FFP and FMV although a different case are rules that interfere with a clubs commercial activities the principal being that governing bodies imposing financial restrictions on clubs is doing just that. I do think that such a case is a lot clearer than you think it is. I’ll post this tweet again where it’s put it clearer terms by NDM. I know a few don’t like him however he is far more knowledgeable in this area than any of us on this forum. https://x.com/nickdemarco_/status/1735644167521341793?s=61&t=Yt8DTJJ-7Jh_ndgpdGSFKQ https://x.com/footballforum01/status/1741087495914135774?s=61&t=Yt8DTJJ-7Jh_ndgpdGSFKQ

That isn’t a defence by the PL, it’s an ultimatum, as I’ve said many times the PL are not above or exempt from competition law.

In the article NFFC have engaged Nick De Marco so who knows, clearly more and more clubs are unhappy with FFP certainly in it’s current form. Why not allow clubs, if there owners can afford to, spend the same amounts the cartel clubs spend? Seems a bit fairer.

Noise around FFP is growing louder. https://inews.co.uk/sport/football/ffp-rules-newcastle-punished-ambition-2847110

No doubt the old grumpy twat will pop up with his world renowned financial expertise on Ashley.

Players Union would take a salary cap to court imo and would win, just like football agents did when they tried to cap fees. in the early 60’s they had a maximum wage in football, Len Whie went to court and won, maximum wage was scrapped.

At least women’s football isn’t hindered by FFP……….yet. The club can invest in the team.

Exqactly…..associated party, FMV panel should have to asses the deal.

You won’t get many disagreeing with that statement.

Don’t forget the Adidas kit deal is reputed to be £40 million a year, that’ll boost our spending considerably this summer.
-
Aye to RM, well why not Joselu ended up there.
-
I’m not, don’t think we ever intended to. In that TV interview with Ashworth early November the club were fishing and the cartel clubs quickly took the bait and convened a meeting to make the FMV rules more onerous. I’m sure, although no proof, that the club are building a case against FMV certainly and hopefully FFP.

What happened yesterday has finally broken these twats for good and as a bonus their owner absolutely humiliated them, not just locally but nationally and maybe internationally. I’ve waited a long long time for a day like yesterday.
