West Ham agree fee in region of £15m with Liverpool for Andy Carroll

Would be weird as fuck seeing Carroll back in our colours. Still can't see it happening for a single second. -

Isn't he just picking bits of that Rodgers interview and taking it out of context there though? In typical Ryder fashion. -
Source of mine reckons we're bringing in Stephen Carr as a RB coach to give Simpson some pointers.

Even more depressing when you look at it as £5.5 million

I will never forgive the board for missing out on this deal if it turns out to be true at 7 million euros

Its probably great going alone, especially to away games if you are more of an extrovert kind of character, I'm a friendly bloke but I tend to keep myself to myself too much and I know for a fact I wouldn't end up cracking onto anyone unless I had mates with me. Might get myself to a cup game by myself if no-one is up for it, see what its like.

I'm more concerned about Tiote's persistent injuries. This is becoming a major worry and I'm surprised more people haven't started to worry about this. Didn't Pardew say in pre-season that he was in the best condition hes ever been in? Obviously talking bollocks. Just because a player is in good condition doesn't mean they are immune to injury... But he didn't play most of pre-season and was doubtful for Spurs, that doesn't sound like such good condition to me.

None of my mates are up for this and I wanted to go, couldn't go by myself, especially with it not being a full house. The amount of mates who have said they aren't bothered about going or they will just watch it on TV is ridiculous, we went to every single game the last two times we've been in Europe. Looks like I'll be watching this on TV with a crate.

What is it that makes him better? Most times I've seen Perch play in defence whether it be LB, RB or CB hes looked a lot better.

Yohan Cabaye (now sporting coordinator at Paris Saint-Germain)
Tiotes Witch Doctor replied to a topic in Football
We aren't using the the right system to get the best out of Cabaye anyway, if we persist with this 4-4-2 shite we might aswell cash in and get someone more suited. All of this to keep Ba from spitting the dummy out.... -
Yep, it's not the end of the world. He's not as good as we ideally need, but he's not terrible either. Do think Perch should be given a chance at being first-choice right back though. Given how solid he's been filling in at various spots, I'm surprised he's not being given the opportunity to prove himself in his natural position. Perch is a good defender, probably better than Simpson, but he offers nothing going forward....which is why we were after Debuchy in the first place. Simpson is the best option we have who can do a job of sorts either way. I disagree, what exactly is it that Simpson does that makes him better going forward than Perch could? He can't take anyone on, ever, his horrific floaty crosses never come off, obviously apart from Spurs where Walker fucked up and flicked it on to Ba. I say give Perch a go, hes a much better defender in my eyes and his growing confidence on the ball can only be a good thing, the defence have obviously been told not to hoof it anymore which is great but you can tell how uncomfortable that makes Simpson because he doesn't have the ability to pick a pass, Perch can do this with ease with his confidence being on a high. Neither are ideal but Perch is the best option in my opinion.

Problem is though he could put 110% effort into training and matches and he would still be shite, I don't think its about effort with him, he just generally doesn't have the ability to be anything better than an average fullback, when he attempts to make forward runs and crosses he looks so out of his depth its frightening, which would be half acceptable if he was a machine in defence but some days hes just as bad defending as he is going forward. Major clanger not upgrading on him IMO, it will be to the detriment of our season and future seasons if he stays.
-
Look, I'm all for upping his wages but we really shouldn't be doubling them.
-
Actually quietly confident this will still go through late on. Imagine how gutted Simpson would be, what a nice added bonus.
-
Think we will get one in before deadline day then a late swoop for Carroll at 10.45.
-
In these opening 3 games I don't think Cisse has had a single shot on goal, I'm more concerned at the lack of chances created for him than anything else, especially against Atromitos.
