  1. I have to say when it comes to the topic of Pardew this thread is one of the few things that keeps me sane .
  2. Is it a sign of how bad things are that I'd actually take Dawson at this stage?!
  3. One of the best games I've seen him play. Can't remember him misplacing even one pass? Would like to see his stats.
  4. Considering the club won't buy until we sell. Apparently its policy not to have more than 25 players on the books, then let's hope he is moved on quickly.
  5. Doesn't Sissoko play right wing? Or am I missing something?
  6. I think we should pick up Enrique for free in the summer, he would be decent back up and I can't imagine his wages will be too high.
  7. Just had a look at the Villa forums, a lot of their fans seem to be massively in denial, "squad too good to go down", "win against Newcastle will kick start our season". Even quite a few saying we've just been extremely lucky last 2 games. Would love to beat them.
  8. Would love it if Leicester won, proves all that shite Pardew used to spout that we shouldn't even be in the same league as Man City etc as wrong. Managers like him wouldn't have any excuses anymore.
  9. Kante is like Anita on speed and roids.
  10. Can see big Sam using his contacts in January and putting a poor technically but solid squad together, they will no doubt scrape by and stay up. When's Johnsons trial?
  11. It really was a great header, are you disputing that? Let's not get all Gary Neville. He's had a good game, next you won't be praising Vardy. Aye, strikers are meant score goals etc...
  12. Thought it was poor from him, he doesn't seem to strong at making saves to his left, seems a canny amount beats him there fwiw. Maybe has to do with injuries or something? Poor? Dier bullet headers it across goal from six yards out through a crowd of players. He did exceptionally to react in that time frame and even get a hand to it. It was Colo's bad marking, not the keepers fault.
  13. This lad is growing on me. Apparently was very vocal in the dressing room at half time. All the players I seen interviewed were first to thank Elliot for his saves as well, so they obviously respect him. No chance Krul should walk back into this team.
  14. Are we talking about Milner or N'Zogbia?
  15. Im not even a football scout and know Van Dijk, James Chester, Jonny Evans, Nastasic and Niklas Sule were all available in the summer are in within our price range (10m) and will probably double in value if they play well enough in the Premier League. They just wanted scrimp and save and make do with Colo. More money in the bank meaning more interest.
  16. I still have great hope for Thauvin and Mitrovic. They just need time and the right system. Look at how well Lamela is doing now. If it was up to the fans he would have been sold a season or so ago at a huge loss.
  17. Looks like Aguero. 10/10 would get over the line.
  18. Didn't put a foot wrong today. However slightly puked in my mouth when the commentator came out with the "Fabricio the Brave" line.
  19. Arguably MOTM for us. His pressuring today was immense. He was a machine out there today, absolutely immune to fatigue for the duration, his passing was okay as well.
  20. First Google search for Derek Wright. http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/news/north-east-news/derek-wright-slammed-metro-near-miss-1414704 How is this man in charge of keeping our million pound "investments" in peak physical condition?
  21. We could do worse than Ayla at Boro, think he'd be in our price range as well.
  22. People slagging off Mbemba already clearly don't understand the fundamentals of being a CB. There was an interesting piece by Pat Nevins pretty recently which put forward why England should push ahead and stick with Stones and Smalling as our starting CBs from now on, even through early mistakes. CBs are generally one of the latest positions to peak and revolve around reading the game and experience, one mistake and it generally costs your team a goal. He put forward examples from Germany and Spain where the likes of Hummels, Mertesacker and Boateng were continually trusted by German club teams and the national teams despite their glaring mistakes as they knew it would make them better players in the long run. Now they have arguably the best defense in the world, but it isn't by coincidence and it didn't just magically happen. He suggested this is now what's happening to Smalling, someone who had the talent but made a lot of mistakes is now turning into one of the best defenders in the world due to his increase in experience and trust from the Man U coaching set up and exposure in the England team. Obviously I'm not comparing Mbemba to Hummels but the point rings true. He's a young player playing in a new league, he will make mistakes and since he is the last line of defence it will cost us goals but if we preserve with him and pair him with a good CB, we could have one of the best defenders we've had in recent years on our hands.
  23. Don't know how he can say this and then be the first player to down tools and let the attacker do whatever they want during the game. I've lost all respect for him over these last 6 months.
  24. I put myself through the goals last night. Can someone offer some incline on why Colo went to ground on the second goal? He seems to just lie down as the ball goes by him.
