We've looked fairly shit so far it has to be said. That said I'm not going to judge after 3 games
  2. Remember playing CM4 and picking Watford. I had Glass and Gavilan on either wing. Used to batter teams. What did happen to Diego Gavilan? Still playing over in South America. Journeyman career. There was another one that you had Hugo Viana? Take it he didn't pull up any trees either.

  4. When he played for us Bent worked his arse off apart from near the end when he decided he wanted away.
  5. It'll have to be a loan. No team could afford a fee and the greedy b******'s wages Not that I'm still bitter or anything... I don't know how much we've been paying Bent, but I am willing to bet it's not a figure which would be beyond other clubs. 85k p/w ?

That it was. Great for a couple of games. Quite good for a few. Then utter shite but a grafter for the rest. His touch is down there with the worst I've seen live in a Sunderland shirt. And I've seen Jeff Whitley and Christian Bassila play for us.
  8. Their dirty underhand tricks got them relegated - it's far from tenuous. Good riddance to the b*st*rds - you think they'd lose any sleep if Sunderland went tits up for the same reasons after THEY put them down ? Hang on - didn't Coventry pull the dirty underhand tricks on Sunderland to get them relegated TWICE not once ? How would YOU feel if they'd done it to Villa - TWICE and put them through the same hell as the makems went through because of dirty tricks they shouldn't have been allowed to get away with, and probably WOULDN'T if had been one of the London or North West teams ? Saved me some typing
  9. Tbf it wasn't much of a partnership, is a front 3 with Gyan, Bent and Welbeck but i do agree none the less the 3 in general worked well. Bent hardly played with Gyan in fact we were starting Campbell with him when we first brought Gyan in iirc. As others have mentioned Bent plays for Bent and no one else. He'll still get at least 15 if you sign him I'd wager though.

Short backs his managers. Very well. As some others have mentioned he has pumped in his own money without asking for it back ala Ashley. He's made a couple of appointments that haven't worked out granted. He also seems to want his managers to earn their money hence the sackings of both O'Neill and Keane who decided attending training was a bother they could do without. With Di Canio, De Fanti and Angeloni in place it seems we're trying something different and actually have a plan rather than Bruce's scattergun approach or O'Neill's policy of spend a lot on certain British players without fitting them into a style of play (you were right Brummie. Sorry I doubted you) So far I can honestly say I'm extremely happy Sunderland Football Club has Ellis Short.

He was s**** every time I saw him except for one game. No prizes for guessing which one. I liked him. A lot of potential. Was exceptional against Felliani in the Everton game. He looked slow and ponderous to me except the derby when he controlled the game. Wasn't really slow. His touch was fairly bad I'll give you that but I thought he was a player we could develop

Always been the most excitable and bipolar of fans, following what has become a boringly predictable sequence. Ecstatic pre-season, depressed by Christmas and suicidal by Easter. Aye. I'd agree to an extent. However I've realised that expecting shite in the first instance generally makes me happier as the season progresses.
  14. apparently it allows them to speak to Suarez but not have to be accepted by Liverpool, or at least thats Liverpools position, weird clause if so Odd that like. So if Suarez agrees with Arsenal then Liverpool can just tell them to f*** off anyway?
  15. Needed one for years. Thought they might have been OK signing Adebayor but apparently not. Shame I quite like Spurs as a club.
  16. Always had Ginola down as a right footer. This He's the only Premier League footballer I've seen take a corner with one foot, then take another with the opposite. I think he's brilliant, can only see him being better next season too with Wilshere being able to take some of the creative load off and linking up with him. It's been rubbished by the Atleti owner and Arsenal btw. I always thought he was left footed
  17. But doesn't Ashley also own the holding company? So in essence he owes himself that amount? I'm confused. Bottom line. If Ashley leaves then he can ask for that money back which is putting off potential suitors? Correct?
  18. This He's the only Premier League footballer I've seen take a corner with one foot, then take another with the opposite. pretty sure shola could do that, admittedly on both occasions the ball would roll forward about 3ft then out of play but hey ho.
  19. If this is in reply to my post then yeah I know Bent can score goals. Its the suggestion that Cisse wouldn't that I found idiotic. As far as Bent goes I've always made my opinion on him clear. Excellent finisher, if he gets lots of chances in the penalty area. In every other way he's a millstone around a teams neck. Plus if he loses interest which he undoubtedly will then he becomes ridiculously shite. With us he had a massive value and we got a fair wedge for him. He goes to Newcastle you'd be lucky to recoup whatever you pay a year or two down the line.
