  1. Wasn't just BDB in fairness, there were loads of stray passes from the midfield, and even a few from Trippier, that could have had us in bother. However that said, Sky highlighted Soton's press and intensity that helped them win against Man City in previous round, and I didn't see as much of that from them last night, apart from when we ourselves were giving it away to them.

    Nick Pope

I think the thing with Pickford with England, he's had the time and settled into the position, whereas Pope is getting the odd game here and there, and obviously will be slightly nervy, and has made errors in recent appearances. Given the time to settle as Pickford was, I think he could be as good/better for England. The impressive thing with Pope for us, becasue the defence has been solid, he often doesn't have much to do in a match, or many shots to face, but when he does, he's on it, and still reactive. Save at Palace as an example, but also the two last night.
  3. Good result last night, but also slightly frustrating game in that we could have had the tie sewn up, but for JL7's first goal being disallowed and once again, not being clinical enough in front of goal. But, we take a lead into the 2nd leg, and hopefully in front of the home crowd, and with a full week to prepare compared to Soton, we can finish the job next Tuesday. Fingers crossed for Forest tonight, now.

Its basically any sports journalist or reporter that doesn't kiss their arse and call them the best team in the world is branded a 'mag' isn't it?? Keith Downie was getting it from them a week or so ago on Twitter.
  5. I'll take that... we stay 3rd
  6. The clock is over 93mins, but not showing the amount of added time?
  7. Arteta there consistently and clearly outside his technical area, like. Almost on the pitch at times.
  8. Neville on Arteta: "I was here a few weeks ago against Newcastle when he was at it then, which was fair enough" Kernt
  9. Hehe, still kept him as my FF captain. Nice.
  10. Whey, whilst it would have been great to win and extend that gap to 5th and 6th, at least its another match undefeated, and another clean sheet (brilliant save by Pope).
  11. Anyone with mahrez in their FF team? 2 goals and 2 assists.
  12. Jesus. Lloris beaten at near post... good finish though
  13. Think Man City will probably win this now, but would take the draw right now. Keeps Spuds 4 pts away from us but Man city only 2pts ahead, going into saturday.

This pretty much sums it up...
  15. According to Chronic today, this whopper is now claiming the credit for us signing Callum Wilson, after Mike Ashley didn't want to. Newcastle United almost didn't sign Callum Wilson, according to the man who signed him for Magpies. Former boss Steve Bruce insists it took a lot of persuading Mike Ashley before he finally agreed to sign the Bournemouth forward. "Everyone thought I was lovey-lovey with Mike, but to get Callum Wilson over the line it was practically war. He was 29, he had the odd injury, big money and he broke the wage bracket at the time as well."
  16. WTF is going on... floodlights dodgy now. Shearer: "Danny Murphys phone going off in the studio"
  17. Haha, was just gonna post that.
  18. First I remember of the 'stuttering' was when John Aldridge started doing it after he'd played for Real Sociedad, and it definitely looks more like a stop than a slowing of his run. He probably learned and started doing it after his penalty miss in the Cup Final.
  19. Don't understand that, like (those highlighted). So its ok for a kicker to stutter on his run up, in the hope the keeper dives early one way so he can put it to the other (empty) side. Yet a keeper trying to play mind game against the kicker is bad craic? A penalty has turned into a bit of a mind game, so if one is ok to try and gain an advanatge (the kicker) why not the keeper?

Maybe it was called the Premiership the last time they were in it, Marra. Much like 'Newcastle Airport', they dinnit recognise the 'Premier Leygue'.
