  1. Got a very decent 72 pts this week, mainly thanks to Salah (captain) and Dacoure last night. Was gutted when Alonso was out, but then Dacoure came off the becnh with a lovely 10 pts. Still have triple captain and my 2nd wildcard to use at some point too.

Their biggest mistake was assuming they'd always just stay up, hence none of their players and especially the big earners had relegation clauses. If they go down again and he' still there, Rodwell will be on the same money in league 1!! And they also have Kone in the team who looks like he doesn't want to be there, and plays as such. Bet they wish they'd taken that bid from Everton for him now.
  3. Classic FF week for me. Got rid of Calvert-Lewin and he scored today, but also when I got rid of Mahrez, I brought in Walcott instead of Mkhitaryan. DOH!
  4. Seen a couple of tweets (from others) suggesting they may have been summoned to the club for 'a chat'. If that was their last display, it was certainly a memorable one and got the Keegan quote noticed/talked about.
  5. Looks like the email suggested 'Wor flags on talksport2' Just checked online, and its Ray Stubbs show on there this afternoon, with H&J on the main TS channel.
  6. If you can click on the Twitter link, Talksport have had a little nibble back at them.

http://ashleyout.com/articles/statement-from-ashleyout/ Statement from AshleyOut 31/01/2018 Yet another transfer window has been and gone with Mike Ashley failing to allow meaningful investment in Newcastle United’s playing squad. There could be little debate that the squad was in desperate need of significant reinforcement during January. Not doing so represents yet another gross dereliction of duty from the ownership, and is further demonstration of why Mike Ashley is not fit to be custodian of Newcastle United. To date the 2017/18 season could only be viewed as a success away from the pitch – the club retained the services of Rafa Benitez, a return to the Premier League meant a vast increase in TV revenues, and fans have backed the team with near capacity crowds for each home match. However, it is apparent that this passion for the team is not shared in the boardroom. Mike Ashley is once again gambling with the very future of Newcastle United by failing to use this momentum as a launchpad upon which the club can build. As a result, relegation from the Premier League for the third time during his tenure is now a very real possibility. After last Sunday’s defeat to Chelsea, Rafa Benitez said: “The Newcastle fans are very clever, they know what is going on”. AshleyOut noted the club resorting to the same tired PR tactics as in previous years, giving the illusion of activity when no permanent transfers appeared to be genuinely in the offing. Similarly, we fully expect to hear the same clichés from the club about our inability to get signings ‘over the line’, despite the fact they had a full month to finalise deals the manager laid out when the transfer window opened. As always, we will support Rafa Benitez and the playing squad as they attempt to secure Premier League survival, however we also remain committed to seeing Mike Ashley removed as Newcastle United owner. AshleyOut will continue to campaign until he sells the club, and urge him to do so as soon as possible.
  8. Probably had a panic attack on the A1 south, and been in Washington services since this afternoon.
  9. Having 2nd part of medical now according to Downie.
  10. Just seen Woodman to Aberdeen confirmed, so guess this must be announced shortly?
  11. Sky Sports ticker is saying Anderlecht rejected a bid from West Ham for one of their midfielders (Leander Dendocker) - not sure if that is the player they were expecting/hoping to sell.
  12. Only that we all think mitro had to leave for this to happen. Hopefully getting shot of some/all of Colback and Saivets wages will also help us afford Slimani, regardless of what happens with Mitrovic.

Just seen Grabban is joining Aston Villa for rest of the season. They still got to play each other?
  14. Apparently Samir Nasri has had his contract terminated by his club Antalyaspor. He's an 'orrible c*nt, but for nowt, would anyone have him here? Beggars/choosers and all that?
  15. Loan's not a bad option with the size of loan fees these days. A loan now, with a sale at the end of the season would probably see them get a good chunk of their money back. Reports suggested they would only sell to a PL side. Maybe this will be a loan (with fee) with obligation to sign in the summer, so we don't have to pay the full whack now. Then again, I guess there'd also need to be an 'unless we end up relegated' clause.
  16. That Spanish Gadgie has been tweeting again.. ?Alberto Santacruz‏ @ a_santacruz Follow Follow @a_santacruz More ?Alberto Santacruz Retweeted ?Alberto Santacruz Newcastle is waiting to convince Benítez not to operate by force. There is an Athletic-Merino agreement and the last red and white offer that exceeds 15 million convinces English leaders, tied by the statements of their coach, although they do not rule out skipping it. Is that suggesting the club are trying to force Benitez to sell him for 15m (euros I guess)?
  17. Couldn't find the Takeover Thread, so put this in here. Seems more attempts this morning to discredit Amanda Staveley again from David Conn (Guardian), followed up by Simon Bird (C*nt). https://www.theguardian.com/football/2018/jan/30/claim-amanda-staveley-home-conservative-party-headquarters?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other Pity some Journo's don't put as much effort into exposing the current owner more, for his running of the club??!!
  18. http://www.true-faith.co.uk/sit-in-protest-burnley-h-1-feb-2018/ SIT IN PROTEST – Burnley (h), 31/Jan/2018 BY MICHAEL MARTIN • JANUARY 30, 2018 • NEWS • COMMENTS (1) • 1913 A group of lads who are not affiliated to any organisation but who feel strongly that some action should be taken to register dissatisfaction at Ashley’s desperate running of Newcastle United have asked us to promote an action they are behind. They are asking supporters to remain in their streets at the FT whistle and register protest in what is now sadly the traditional way. You all know the words to the songs. They are asking that stewards are not abused in any way. They are not the enemy. When asked to leave, please do so but then make your way to the Milburn Stand main entrance and continue the protest until 11pm when the window officially closes. This is not being organised by true faith or any formal supporters group. We will participate ourselves and hope this who feel the same join with this protest and spread the word accordingly. All the best. Wonder if they'll still do it if we win?
