From BBC: If Sunderland lose tonight they will become the first side since Wolves in 1983-84 and 1984-85 to finish bottom of the top two tiers of English football in successive seasons, and just the third side to have done so, after Fulham also did it in 1967-68 and 1968-69.

Was just gonna post, not a lot different to this years kit. Hope they keep the red numbers.

Another nail in the coffin... Wonder if the consortium was the one trying to get Eastleigh FC's owner to invest with them? http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/16178579.stewart-donald-plays-down-sunderland-link/ Totalsport played a clip of him being interviewed last night about it.

It’s unclear if the relegation clauses in their contracts extend to all leagues or just relegation from the PL, I’ve had a look around and cant see any confirmation. That said, Rodwell didn’t even have a clause from the PL So he’ll be sat on full whack next season unless they can shift him. Just found this... https://rokerreport.sbnation.com/2018/3/29/17175194/jack-rodwell-contract-revealed-what-the-forgotten-sunderland-man-is-set-to-earn-next-season Which suggests that Rodwell's pay cut was delayed a year, meaning he got his full £70k/week in the champo, but next season, it would be cut by 40% whichever league there were in (Chmpo or L1). That still equates to roughly £40k/week though for him next season, in League 1.

At work, and listening to this now. Great first few minutes and calls, as the reality dawns. Even the presneter was refusing to talk about the possibility of them going down, as it was inevitable... then has to apologise to 'Benno' and advise that they are officially down.
-
RTG really are the genital warts of football forums - the gift that keeps on giving:  Its great... they love dishing it out, but now the inevitable has happened and they are getting a bit (ok a LOT) back, they are complaining because no-one feels sorry for them - yet everyone could see it coming, and has little sympathy for them. Its a big reality check for them, that they aren't as well thought of as they believed....no matter how many 'Fan in Peace' topics they start on their inbred little message board.

I'm sure talk at the time was that a fee of £8m had been agreed for N'Dong at the end of the season, and he would be going. 6 players on loan themselves... but I'm sure Lua Lua was also only on loan? Just an option iirc, he’s never played for Watford and doesn’t get on the bench currently. Didn't realise Ndong hasn't played a single minute for Watford. Sunderland's transfer dealings have been so bad in recent years Ah right. Sure the talk (about N'Dong) on Totalsport at the time was that it would be permanent in the summer. Another surprise for them then. Just looked and Kazenga LuaLua joined them on a free from Brighton, but only until the summer... so he gets to escape.
-
But, but, I thought Boycotts and protests were a 'mag' thing, and they would rather appear classy and just bend over and take it every seyson??

Hoping Notts County get promoted in the play-offs now. Next season, this lot could be playing against Kevin Nolan & Shola (if he's still there), as well as Joey Bartons team, and Rob Lee's sons! The hits just keep on coming!!

The Bews after the Burton goals Bents celebration The disallowed equaliser
-
Hahahahaha... Amazing... Saw them winning, but once again, just as they give the fans a glimmer of hope, they hoy it away. Officially relegated from the pub league, against Burton if all teams is quite poetic.

Suggestions on twitter that SSN have either picked up on, or been sent this tweet... https://twitter.com/NewcastleGoals/status/985137023802593280 In fairness to them, there are 14 tickets on the picture, and that is ' a number' and also 'under 20'.

Dear me... and thats by a so-called professional journo, at a local newspaper?? It reads like a typical fanzine article. "Sport Direct Arena".... "Alan Pardew and Jim Charver".... "Shearer, still with a face resembling that of a haemorrhoid-stricken pall bearer"....
-
Was trying to remember who scored the other goal (knew Shearer, N'Zogbia and Luque), and of course it was Michael Chopra... he came on a sub and scored with his first touch about 10 seconds later. In fact, I think his run from the touchline was straight into the box and onto the end of a ball to score.

Ant McPartlin might be watching closely at the outcome of that one.
-
Mackematics again... "Annoying thing is we were close to being on par with NUFC at one point – still – we have owned them for the last decade just about so that will have to do." Hmmm, 4 seasons, one of which we were a division below, is now a decade.

Man City did win the title because of the result tbf Irrelevant when it was a total minging game and Man City weren’t even playing today Exactly. Now our highlights will be probably be 5 mins shoehorned in between the Man Utd match and Man City back patting, and yesterdays goals.

Just realised who 'Uncal Mick' reminds me of... 'The Firm' remake was in 2009... maybe they modeled new 'Bex' on Uncal Mick??
-
Bliddy hell. Trail just on for MOTD2, and looks like West Broms 1-0 win at Old Trafford will be first up.
-
Get In!!! Another decent performance, and a cracking result. Great to be safe... onwards we go, and who knows... 8th place finish could be in sight!
-
Haha, and there it is again... a glimmer of hope, followed by an equaliser.
-
Our Academy lads might get to play them in the Checkatrade trophy.

Exactly, thick as mince. Can a human even outrun a Tiger??? Arnly the Black Ones, Marra. Dear god, that thread.
