Who's the real divvies? People who watch them or them for raking it in by spouting drivel
-
So who is responsible for the poor performance? Howe for poor choices and management or the players for not doing what we know they can?
-
None of the ones who were actually good at it at have any pressure for their places so just seem happy to turn up now. The "stars" are playing like being at Newcastle is beneath them, and the ones not good enough are doing the same as always. Also like it or not Pope has had his good time for us but isn't going to get any better and his injuries are just going to make him worse
-
Not allowed to criticise Burn though...he's local and is brilliant as long as not at left back.

These shit performances are becoming the norm. The results are masking it, but to quote a forum meme as such...its worrying. Whatever Eddie did in his first 18 months looks to have worn off, and injuries aren't an excuse any more

Callum Wilson: offered 'incentive-based' contract extension (Ornstein)
gjohnson replied to Strawberry's topic in Football
There's not many strikers available who will get 20 plus a season now. We already have one of them. Getting another will involve spending 50m plus, or bringing through a star from youth or reserves. We're not currently in a position for either -

Exactly this....he could have the skill of Messi, and the power of Ronaldo, but if he can't get on the pitch what's the point -

You'd almost think having first rate medical professionals available at a moments notice would be better than whatever the NHS are attempting to pass off as qualified doctors today....which is definitely not the stressed out 70 hour a week one we're constantly being told about -

Time for that Simpsons clip.... "Billy, remember that old Plymouth we just couldn't fix?" "We sold him to Mr Lazslo?" "You're a dull boy Billy" For the garage attendant see us. For Billy see Paul Mitchell For Mr Lazslo see any Saudi team not under orders to not buy players from us (ie none). CW is a busted flush now. No-ones going to pay money for him, so we might as well milk any ability he has left before he's physically incapable of getting back on a pitch....which seems closer with every passing week -

If he's fit and available he's already got one up on Wilson -
He was a favour to Sheff Utd who will be buying Ruddy off of us in the next window for 30m

A few shipping containers...reckon about 300m is the going rate by Chelsea standards

It just shows how much power the slimy 6 have over the PL as a company. It would be in the PLs best interest to have more teams competing as it would be a more interesting league globally. Which would ultimately bring them more money. As it is at the moment the most interesting thing about this league is all the legal shenanigans, given that it's almost a given that City will win the league, but might be ran close by Arsenal or Liverpool. Man Utd and Chelsea are now obviously basket cases in a footballing sense, but have enough influence power and money to stop anyone getting past them in the medium term

Exactly this...with the intense scrutiny on everyone "management speak" is the only thing that apparent professionals can come out with. Ie saying a lot and looking like answering the question but not really say anything. The actual truth will remain behind closed doors, and it'll take several more windows for him to show how competent he really is. We don't know what the dynamic between Howe/Mitchell/Eales really is, as its still a new group of responsibility, and there will be a degree of learning for all three on how the other two work. Don't know about anyone else but in most jobs if there's a new management team set up it rarely goes perfectly smoothly from the off. Like you say he's not going to say "we've made a massive balls up" or say it was a brilliant window as that's just giving fans, pundits and the media rope to hang himself with

All we will hear is how that a result isn't anywhere near and the case will go on for several more months, if not years
-
Or maybe they're just so much better than everyone else they didn't actually feel the need to spend?

Does Southgates nose get bigger everything he's photographed? Starting to look like Jack Jeebs

There's only ever one winner when litigation starts, and that's only ever the lawyers. Look at this Man City stuff. How long has it been going on, and how long is it likely to? Either they've broke the rules or they haven't, no matter how blurry they might have made things (although blurring thing does suggest something they don't want easily found or proved, but that's beside the point) Their case will keep a law firm in business for years, but can guarantee no-one will be happy with the outcome if there ever is one

Essentially we've fallen into a barrel of tits and come up sucking our own thumb

What's Shefki Kuqi doing these days?

It was like the euphoria of getting married a supermodel, just to find out after going to bed the first time she had every STD on the planet, a prosthetic leg, and chronic acne covered by make-up just to be told she didn't fancy you that much in the first place, but since you're married she's entitled to half of everything you have
-
Not really the point... we couldn't play the 19/20m we got in midfield. Keeping him would have been more valuable to us than selling even though we would have got less later
-
Well it looks like having him is more valuable for Palace now than having 65m even if they get less later. As we've seen (Cabaye)...a pile of money is good, but it's not going to score goals, control the midfield or martial a defence

Well somethings not right somewhere. Could it be possible that as part of releasing Ashworth we agreed not to pursue any targets identified while he was in place?
