No idea but would love to be exploiting some of the tricks they're using to get away with it
-
Well we now have 5 keepers. 3 who have been signed knowing full well they will never play. Adding yet another now reeks of incompetence or some financial chicanery we are not privy too. If we needed Ruddy as an influence, then what's the point in Gillespie who was brought in for that? And who knows about Odysseus with his ever increasing fee
-
Pleased you are. Yes we've a decent start, but the performances have been shocking. Howe is great and has built a lot of goodwill, but it will be this season that shows whether he can truly hack being a manager of a team that has ambitions to be in Europe every season. He's retained a lot of support (mine included), but can see it running out quickly if we're not comfortably top 7 by Jan

Isn't it exactly Paul Mitchels job to approve other options?
-
Would certainly hope so. Kind of pointless having any sort of scouting department if it's top target or none
-
Has the final fee been agreed for the odyssey? Last I heard it was 35m euros
-
Careful...you're not allowed to criticise Burn when he's playing in central defence
-
Can't be true...I was reliably informed he was a solid defender who doesn't let us down, and we should be confident with him in there
-
It does look like a smile. Forgive the thickness, but I read that as they didn't make a single pass in to the box? Don't think Bruce even managed that one
-
I remember a simpsons episode... Lisa to Nelson. "Nuke the whales? You don't really believe that do you?" Nelson. "I dunno...gotta nuke something". Works here perfectly.. NUFC fans "skint, sold our soul, in turmoil? You don't really believe that?" Journalists "dunno...gotta write something"

When did this happen? New stadium is surely worthy of a thread of its own?

I know RTG is a total caricature of the average makem whenever it comes to anything non-football related, but I'm so pleased I'll not have to be surrounded I an office by them very soon. I genuinely thought their valuation of Clarke was just a piss take, but they are seriously and totally raging that they didn't get more than 40m for him. They really thought they would get more than we paid for Bruno as apparently Clarke is 10 times the player he is. I had to go in to a toilet cubicle to laugh at that

This Minteh stuff is starting to sound like not winning the lottery when having numbers off by one for each ball. He never played for us so we haven't really lost anything. His trade helped us out of a hole and probably stopped us falling foul of the rules put in place specifically to stop us. In a perfect world it would have been good to keep him, but when we're competing against accountants who can sell something that's already theirs to themselves it was a pretty good deal. Accountancy specifics aside we sold a player we bought for 6-8m for 30m without ever having to take the risk of him playing. Hopefully we can make use of it going forward

From wiki...."in a 2024 interview with BBC Sport, Textor criticized Paris Saint-Germain for having ownership by the Qatar Investment Authority, and said that it was illegal under European law for a foreign nation to invest in a company" Another dodgy American businessman...already owns Lyon

Leeeegss ours to lose marra
-
This is where we want a 0-0 draw with several major injuries and possibly a suspension or two. Generally the best result when you want both teams to lose
-
He probably did something stupid like using a BBC company phone to do it....otherwise someone who gave consent is going to look fairly daft complaining about a conversation that was allegedly consensual. Regardless of what actually occurred his reputation is ruined and he won't be on the air any time soon

I have a different opinion to you, and it makes me an arsehole? I dont need to say any more
-
Can't even tell if you're trying to be amusing or actually a member of Burns family
-
Oh my days. If you've not seen a basic mistake from BDB I'd argue that it is you that isn't watching. Or at least paying attention
-
It is different, but it's taken a big chunk of enjoyment out and definitely shrunk the "wow" feeling when you know someone's going to shoot, they do, and the net nearly rips off. Stick in to YouTube Shearer vs Everton or Robert vs Spurs....3 of the best goals ever
-
Don't think he was actually. There was a lot less competition for that spot back then, and if you recall most of Jenas caps were a few mins of substitutions here and there. I dont rate Longstaff highly now, but would say he's done more for us than Jenas ever did Plus being at Tottenham will have given him a 10-15 cap boost just because England managers then (and still) hardly look outside Manchester Liverpool and London for players that could actually be useful
-
He was decent, but as someone said before he was a bit of a jack of all trades. Ok at everything, excelled at nothing. Wasn't a goal scoring midfielder, wasn't a tough tackler, and didn't have the personality to be a leader. He's basically Longstaff 20 years ago
-
Undoubtedly he has/had a c**t side, but he was our c**t and had the balls to say what almost all of us thought about Souness when the rest (Shearer included) were calling him a great manager despite it being zit on the end of your nose obvious he was s***e
-
Ok before I start...Isaks awesome, and undeniably one of the best we've ever had. No disputing it... Has he ever scored a goal from massive distance like Robert or Shearer did? He's done some amazing ones but don't recall any that were just from pure power rather than trickery and intelligence. Just a question before anyone jumps on that horse in the sky?
