Didn't Lallana recently refuse to come into training if he wasn't allowed to move to Liverpool? That's a player who came up through their ranks and that's how he treats them at the first sniff of a bigger club. Point being, I think you just have to accept that that is the way football is today and the way players are. I mean our very own Cabaye refused to play last year when Arsenal showed interest and he is still held in such high regard. I'm curious what Remy did or said that has soured people on him so much because he was a critical player for us last year. And the fact that people don't want him back is surprising to me, if not outright shocking. The injury concerns are valid and a good point, I can understand that.

Personally If he performs on the pitch like last year then I really don't care about anything else. It's not like he did/said anything bad or disrespectful towards the club. Asking to sit out the Liverpool game isn't a massive deal to me considering our season was over, he wasn't even actually our player and he had a world cup coming up. If he was a permanent signing it would be different. Besides, do you really think guys like Cabella see us as anything more than a stepping stone? Didn't Riviere pretty much say exactly that?

Don't really know what thread to ask this in but, what would your guys early predictions be for our final position this season? I'd probably go with 8th/9th. Kinda depends on Southampton and how well they rebuild their squad, certainly don't think we'll be able to break the top 7

I think the World Cup showed that you don't necessarily need great individuals to carry out a 3-5-2 successfully. I mean look at Chile, their three CBs individually were seemingly quite poor and yet they were very successful. With the right coaching it could work, but obviously we don't have that I also think you need a commanding CB who can organise the others and obviously we're lacking that as well

Would love to see us sign Grenier but I do wonder how you would make a balanced midfield accomodating the likes of Grenier/Cabella/Sissoko/de Jong. Most people are putting him with Tiote in the holding roles in a 4-2-3-1 but I would worry a lot about how much protection our defense would be getting from that. And let's face it, they're gonna need protecting. Of course you can rotate but I don't imagine us paying the kind of money needed for anything less than a bona fide first team player
