  1. We did raise the funds by selling two players who are quite trivial to us at this stage. Also, the counter point is who wouldn’t you have bought to cover the shortfall? You can’t have it both ways.
  2. I know what you’re trying to say here but it isn’t coming across particularly well imo. She’s a minority shareholder.
  3. If we are to expand the stadium and training ground this will require significant capital investment which will have to be done by either taking on loans or from our owners. Doubt it via loans would be crippling as interest rates are high, doing it via our owners requires them to actually put up money; AS simply doesn’t have the finances to do it. They should have the feasibility study at this juncture and have a full executive team in place. It’s a very logically time for her to take her profit and move to being a fan.
  4. Highly unlikely, I think it’s just the right time. Ultimately they can’t invest to the levels needed and if they keep diluting the shares they are just further delaying actually profiting and also incurring further interest and risk. The club is an investment for them; sure they fell in love and all that but the prime motivator was profit which they will have handsomely.
  5. Without a doubt, they have no money at all. (Relatively speaking in comparison with the other share holders). The direction of the club has always been in the hands of the Saudi AS is just the front lady.
  6. Aye worst source possible but it makes sense. Her shares are being diluted all the time and she has bills to pay. Ultimately it’s an investment for her.
  7. Wouldn’t Eddie have some claim to the credit of him being worth 70m food for though.
  8. That’s exactly what happened, people are speculating that if Wilson were to be sold it would free up wages to bring in DCL.
  9. No way we pay 80m that you can relax about.
  10. Haha, it’s good harmless fun. Something to discuss
  11. I hear that argument I really do but it doesn’t change any of the facts regarding how bad of a deal financially it would be. You have to try and achieve the same whilst being more pragmatic with the clubs resources. We simply have to player trade and buying players who can’t be traded will be really bad for us in the long term.
  12. Seriously? I expect us to challenge for the top 4 this season. I don’t expect west ham too. We had an unprecedented injury crisis last season and still finished above them. fair play though.
  13. Because we aren’t even in Europe and we are much better than them. Do you believe west ham will qualify for Europe?
  14. You made reference to ASM in your post. The rule your referring to relates to UK tax law.
  15. Is he? I’m not sure he is tbh. If they can’t push for Europe then what’s the point? I think West ham have an issue with overall direction of the club what’s the actual goal? What do they hope to achieve? Bottom line is they are unlikely to qualify for Europe, he’s on a massive wage and worth a lot of money if you sell him you save on his wages and bank a massive profit all whilst not having much impact on your league position. Perfect sale for them imo.
  16. Absolutely your point is definitely true, but the flip side is your paying a premium in both fees and wages for a player who won’t improve and will only de-value. To make the transfer worth it your relying on multiplier effects which might have also been achieved by signing someone who is slightly worst but doesn’t have the above negatives plus your protecting yourself on the downside.
  17. Our FFP issues will be less acute moving forward we age more revenue and ideally more players with resale value on the books. That being said, we still need to be pragmatic about things.
  18. The problem is in this era you can’t look past the accounting. It’s depressing I know but this is the reality of football. A lot of people’s frustration regarding Minteh is he seems to have a lot of promise in a position where we are badly lacking and he’s been bought by one of the clubs who are adept at talent spotting for a record fee. I understand and the respect the view but we have no choice and it was the most palatable option.
  19. That’s the end of that.
  20. Eh not really we got great money for both Minteh and Anderson I would have sold both too. I think some of us on here realise that the only way for us to bridge the financial gap is to trade players acquire aggressively at that.
  21. I don’t think we end up with Elanga personally. We could have obviously tried to get him last summer for cheaper than what he would be now.
  22. He’s being linked a lot, this isn’t the first rodeo.
  23. Most players would be a massive upgrade though, it really isn’t difficult to upgrade that position given how badly we are lacking. Bowen, is at peak value and on a massive long term contract, it would be eye wateringly expensive with little to no chance of any return.
