Eales was picking up the slack on the executive side.

Listening now and I see what you mean. it Liverpool would have taken Gordon yesterday they wouldn’t have been doing us any favours, they would have been getting an excellent player at a cut price. Sometimes the way people frame things causes them to reach odd conclusions.
-
It’s actually highly amusing the person least likely to leave in the heat of all of the noise was actually Bruno.
-
Yeah and I obviously know this too.
-
How do you propose we check the cash movements of his personal private bank accounts?
-
Hmmm I see what you mean but who could we have sold in January for that much to fill the hole?Bruno and Isak at that point right? Kicking the can was the logical option imo.
-
As I’ve mentioned, he wasn’t gambling with any bookies, even if he was how we would know which bookies he was going to? Ultimately your points don’t stand up to logic nor reason. Now it something was in the public domain prior to us buying him id be with you friend. I’m sure you know I’m not the guy sitting here singing the party line

I just want to know what the plan is to get us to that point of being champions league regulars. The only conclusion I have is player trading, because the other ways seem closed off.
-
I don’t think so, I think we have a very strong attachment with our players and any that perform well we won’t be happy with them leaving.
-
I know the risk makes it feel that way but it’s actually the best time to sell, we got full use out of those players for and are booking profits for them in the period we got said use. If we are to continue to be ambitious in the transfer market we have to accept that player sales are apart of it, we just don’t have the revenue to spend like a Sky 6 club.

Bending over for your loud mouth owner and giving up all dignity, I’d take the hit seriously.
-
That would be remarkably stupid if so. If we are 2m short our deduction would have been minimal.
-
60 is a lot more than 16. We also have no migration im not saying we’d have got 10 but I think best case would have been 7.
-
No, I don’t think of it like that. Could we have competed without the level of investment over these 3 years? Probably not. Football is a very fluid industry I think we took a conscious decision to push all the way until we no longer could and that was yesterday. Ultimately the funds invested are what’s allowed us to buy players who are now worth more than what we paid. As long as we continue to do that and us as fans accept we have to sell some every now and again until our revenue is on par then that’s what we have to do, it’s our only path. The only critique I actually have is the money left on the table via not signing up more commercial partners for training ground, stadium and training kit. Also we need a new stadium which can drive revenue like spurs stadium does for then.
-
I don’t think so, having to find 60m plus in a day is massively concerning. And this anti psr narrative is of little value given the mechanisms that existing to actually change the rules. Ive questioned so many times where the revenue will come from to allow us to compete and I’m still none the wiser.

He’s a smart guy, I’m sure he understands. Unfortunately and I know this sounds like a crank talking but the game is utterly rigid against any form of ambition competition.
-
That wouldn’t have been enough to stop this. and please, it wasn’t possible for us to know about his habit, he was doing illegal gambling via his phone no way for us to know that. Howe also said Tonali was his number 1 dream signing. Please understand the rules we are operating under, we need investment and it’s prohibited we’ve performed miracles yesterday and the cost to us at this stage is very little.
-
Yes and no. Unfortunately the rules leave us fucked as myself and others have been saying for awhile. We can’t spend at the rates we do now without either selling players or increasing revenues. We can’t increase our revenues as owner investment is significantly limited by various rules. If the rules aren’t going to change then our best chance is player trading extensively but that in itself is very difficult to do.
-
Hopefully it breaks, but aye 15-20 hopefully.
-
Dokko man, what should they have done?
-
Oh they’ve paid a lot then if he’s starting right away they’ve paid.
-
Oh aye, it will be more than that derisory 2m they offered without a doubt.
-
Article mentioned the club are worried Gordon’s head has been turned.
-
I agree, it sucks but the context is crucial right? We would have only done that as the last resort, it’s not something we want to do it’s something we might have had to do. taking a points deduction is a none starter, the target for next year is champions league qualification and we can’t achieve starting on -10.
-
I haven’t read it’s even done? Only it’s close with no numbers mentioned.
