I think your perceptions are slightly off/ tinted by recency bias. Ultimately they are shopping in the same market as us, they can’t attract the elite so anyone they sign willl be something of a project or a player passed over/deemed not good enough by a city/madrid.
-
It’s a bit harsh, it’s the first wobble since they’ve appointed him. You can’t really remodel a squad in 2 windows either. The media wankathon in the first half of the season has done them no favours either entire squad made out to be world beaters.
-
You can’t equate the two, they need money and as the owner has shown they are more than happy to role out the red carpet for us. Don’t think it will happen either mind, the plans we have for SJP are still shrouded in mystery as we know absolutely nothing at this stage.

I don’t think he’s naive, he just has that I won’t budge from my principles way, which obviously becomes a massive issue when things aren’t going well.

Thank goodness! Was worried the fa would take the piss.
-
Yeah, that would make some sense, it’s totally bizarre how he came with his exclusive and it’s been crickets from everyone else.
-
Every clip I see posted from cbs looks like they hit it out of park mind.
-
Has none of the clubs other favourite journalists chimed in on Edwards exclusive? I wonder if he’s jumped the gun.
-
Do you think Eddie still feels the same way ?
-
I love Eddie but I take what he says with a handful of salt.
-
Way too expensive now for us.
-
That’s the one thank you sir.

The reports at the time towards the end of the loan was Eddie not been too keen on Targett and we wanted Brunos other mate (I can’t remember his name). He’s going to be hard to shift if he’s in a 100k a week anarl.

It’s a strange one because at the time it was a no brainer, but the injuries and the massive salary (if true) make it look a bit mad now.
-
Yeah and that’s the issue we face this year, can we get rid of bit part players and free up so money to reinvest. as the club themselves have pointed out, we simply have to player trade so it’s a case of picking our poison as best we can.
-
It’s really interesting, in Targett and Wilson you have two players who I’d be absolutely gagging to get rid of to create some PSR Leeway. These are two players who aren’t going to improve or be first choice and absolute prime candidates to move on this FFP constricted world.

Arsenal are a club looking to take the step to becoming a tier 1 side. If Mbappe is off to Madrid who higher than Arsenal would be in for him? In terms of a fee, we would definitely listen to offers at say 120m. 200m is never happening again.

Yeah the Arsenal thing confuses me a bit I keep hearing conflicting information about how the finances are for them. according to the athletic this is where they are. In the Premier League profit and sustainability regulations (PSR), clubs are permitted to make overall losses no greater than £105million over a three-season period. Although Arsenal’s combined losses exceed this figure, the leeway clubs were granted as a consequence of the pandemic means they are still in a relatively comfortable position. There has been significant expenditure since then and Arsenal have indicated that financial regulations were a factor in their decision not to enter the January transfer market. This may have been to ensure they could spend significantly in the summer of 2024. that being said, I do feel they have the pulling power if they can finance the deal.

Wouldn’t worry, the sources quoted here would be laughed off if it was bad news.
-
Yea absolutely, for me though if we take an option which still requires extensive balloting at the end of it we’ve failed in what we should have been trying achieve.
-
Guys, Guler isn’t coming here as he wasn’t last year. Don’t waste your energy.
-
You can be banned for a season too, this had happened before but it takes a few serious breaches. PSG are the perfect example, they’ve lost 600m euro in the last 3 years yet here we are. They had Messi Neymar and Mbappe on payroll ffs.
-
Some of them are and they are punished accordingly. The big difference here is Uefa isn’t so draconian with punishments. The premier league has only recently become so draconian because of our emergence. As you will note the league was silent when Chelsea and City were doing it. Basically the big boys club is full now so something had to be done.

What’s the source for this relaxing or related party stuff?
