  1. I’m sure clubs are beating down our door for Ritchie. Did we renew him since the takeover btw? I can’t recall.
  2. Haha your not the first say this but I think it’s over stated tbh. pretty sure SSN is a loss leader for them. I think maintaining the status quo is much more beneficial for sky.

Expecting a % of profit clause as well. City love a clause.
  4. Brighton despite appearances are basically happy to be there, they aren’t pushing to upset the established order and will likely continue as they are now, making big profits or players sales and developing talent. Leicester belonged to the upstarts but obviously came unstuck during Covid, it remains to be seen how they operate when they get promoted but I don’t expect them to become upstarts again. West ham are happy to be there also, no real ambition to challenge for anything. Spurs are the apart of the established order and we the smartest of the bunch imo. Brentford are happy to be here also, no ambition to upset the apple cart, indeed I heard a podcast recently talking how happy for Toney they are that he will be going, truly odd stuff.
  5. I think that’s apart of the model; most of them aren’t actually competing to win. They are competing to remain in the league and ride the valuation of the club upwards. I see the league broadly split into 3 categories. 1, established elite. City man united etc. (these guys love FFP because it limits the cost they incur quite per protecting them from challengers). 2, upstarts. Us Villa. We hate FFP because it’s a glass ceiling for us, we have the money to compete but we aren’t allowed to spend it thus the gap is maintained. 3, happy to be along for the ride. (Everyone else) these clubs love FFP because again it’s limits the cost they incur and allows them to create a gap between themselves and the newly promoted clubs.
  6. I don’t think so, most of the let’s call them less ambitious clubs in the league don’t over stretch themselves and run the risk of being in breach. Remember FFP is beneficial for most of the league, the only ones who dislike are the upstarts.
  7. That’s because they aren’t. Nobody would notice if they got relegated.
  8. Absolutely we shouldn’t, it’s just one of the factors to consider right? We will be paying a premium for him and we can’t afford errors.
  9. Are we doing that thing again where we overate a player because he has a good game against us?
  10. Pointless and bang on, what a world we live in
  11. Thanks for sharing with us what you’ve learned.
  12. I think MGW is class just not sure how fits in our 433 and have concerns over the price which will be eye watering.
  13. Difficult, if we look our midfielders they are basically all box to box players, all of our signings to date have been bought with the intent of playing in our current system imo.
  14. Your way better than that man, I get it though
  15. The only person who has think it isn’t who is tcd who I actually have no issues with
  16. Who cares about Maddison? Has a guaranteed 2 month injury lay off every season and doesn’t fit into his ur system at all.
  17. Definitely get this sentiment, Bruno gets us and is world class, selling him would be heart breaking. It’s also a massive opportunity to push forward and evolve further. Biggest decision we face either way will be coming sooner rather than later though.
  18. With “sir Jim” taking over Manchester red you can be sure he won’t be coming here.
  19. Not keen on Onana at all, big joe is much better imo. EPL tax is to real, this summer has shown we can’t afford to pay 60m per player
  20. Highly unlikely, there more than any of our players are on.
  21. Caulkin doesn’t seem at all interested in doing the podcast tbh. It seems as if most of his job is under duress these days lol.
  22. He’s not a natural 8 is he? And we have little Joe. I think MGW isn’t too similar to big Joe, I don’t see him as someone winning so many duels.
  23. On MGW i think he’s a very good player but not sure how he fits into our system, it would feel a system change is needed to get the best out of him. For the fee he would command id want to pass personally. it’s all speculation mind, easy clicks and all that.
