He was free though and if they believed he was a top class striker the money they'd have to spend on transfer fees alone would more than cover his demands. Is Woodman jr. really any good? Honest question. He has represented England at youth level fwiw. Given he's had his father's "coaching" throughout his career and also given we decided to play a Alnwick who has since been released I doubt it.

Fair point. I didn't think Chelsea wanted to sell Bamford, is there not chance of a loan deal for the season? I'm sure they rate him highly, but just want him to get more experience. We do love a good cut price downgrade. Another player we wouldn't bother touching if he wasn't on a free. He's not shit, but his injury record is nearly Bantz level. He's just not a player we should be looking at. He is injury prone and we already have a better right back at the club. He's a poor centre half but an upgrade on what we have.
