He looks talented to me, I think Pardew is the problem here. I don't think putting him in the development squad is a good idea since its inception no one has actually developed
-
The only approach is can we make a profit in the future. Too bad they can't find anymore release clauses
-
I guess they have turned it down then It was probably still under £8m so dont know why they even bother to bid when they know what Monty wants You know how much we like to tell everyone we tried

I hope we don't ruin his career

They're already exposed to a ridiculous degree, Colback won't make any difference to that. It's Pardew's tactics of not having anyone sitting that's the main problem in that department. Well Tiote is prone to being caught out of position and people are touting Colbacks engine which means is a reference to him getting up the pitch despite having no quality whatsoever. While i may get Ron a bit mad at this, i think Tiote doesn't sit because Pardew's tactics encourages him not to, ever since Pardew has been here we've had a massive problem with teams breaking onto our CB's. The times we had Cabaye deepest with Tiote on the edge of opposition box in attack was also ridiculous. Now Tiote has many faults but the space vacated in front of the back four is one i don't blame him for, Pardew's tactics are the reason as it happens when Tiote isn't playing. Instead of telling a player, be it Tiote or whoever to sit and hold, Pardew simply doesn't, i know what you mean with Colback but just imo it's irrelevant. We could sign the best holding player in the world and our defence would still get exposed. I agree with most of this but our defence would perform better as a unit with a player who just say and covered the space deep. Aka what Anita did for Ajax. Totally agree but for that to happen Pardew would need to go back to 4-3-3, a system that was the best suited to our squad, brought the best performances and something he's flatly refused to do. The man is mental to be honest. The 4-3-3... That old chestnut.

I can see our back four being really exposed if Tiote and Colback play as a pair.
-
Passes it square and runs around a lot. Can he jump high and hoof it long?
-
Who is elastico chop? Is be credible?
-
Lol Colback and Perez... You get the feeling the names of Cabella and Gomis are to get season ticket sales up. Believe it when I see it
-
looks like Pardew is winning the tug of war with carr then
-
I don't think he was including Colback in that pool tbh. Also for my money France have a better squad than us.
-
Will probably include wages too. How come when we sold Cabaye, the remaining wages he wasn't paid. They aren't added to the transfer war chest.......it's such bollocks I'm just praying the fat cunt pays his debt back and sells up
-
I must have watched a different jack Colback
-
Care to take a stab at why? A few people are saying this then avoiding any follow up questions. Yup, I asked about his strengths but got radio silence.
-
35 million to spend lol, we are being fleeced
-
Only when it suits them. Let's see if they back him when it comes to signing a striker. Well they're backing him on getting rid of Hatem, Marv and MYM, and bringing in Colback (his signing i've no doubts about that). Like you say, it'll be clearer when strikers are bid for, McCormack if true would definitely be a Pardew signing imo. No doubt seen him play well a couple of times on TV and wants to buy him.
-
He does, he's had to suffer the shit cunts in training for 3 years.
-
Came good in what sense? Put a couple of tackles per game in and a few square passes.
-
dat monitoring Another central midfielder! Whatever next, another left back?
-
Decent enough if he's Gosling's replacement. Horrible if he's Cabaye's replacement. I'd rather see Abeid or biggie come in as Goslings replacement rather than Colback. Oh well another passenger to add to the bus load we currently have
-
Really struggling to understand how anyone can be happy with this signing. Some of you couldn't have lower expectations tbh
-
Colback fans are like Pardew fans. You ask them what they are good at and get no response.
