He isn't. Other than his pace what does he have? Decent passer, decent crosser, decent dribbler. He doesn't have that many stand out attributes. Once upon a time he was great in a press using his pace and tenacity but even that is lacking nowadays.

I don't see who is giving us 70m for a guy with zero output over the last 12 months. If memory serves me even at his pomp Liverpool were only looking at a 60m valuation.

Good post, he does indeed have credit in the bank which is why most including myself are willing to give more time. Obviously the manner of loss to the mackems caused some headless, given the state of the performance I wouldn't expect nothing less. I must say however that the utter dross we witnessed for many a year came under an ownership who was engaged in active self harm, now we aren't where we need to be but personally speaking I can't compare what's happening now to what happened during that reign. If we dropped Eddie right now, I'd be unhappy however if the away form continues, the performances continue to be tepid and we finished the season in the bottom half I'd be reassessing my position.
-
Who would pay us more than what we paid for at this juncture? If we were selling of course. He's been quite poor for over a year? On a canny wedge now as well.
-
In our generation no we haven't. We've slightly over achieved. (We've spent a lot this seems to be forgotten) And no I don't think what we've achieved makes us spoilt. Some might be but personally speaking my expectations for this season is some form European qualification does that make me spoiled and or entitled? Finishing outside of that would be shooting over par imo. Doesn't mean id immediately sack the manager but id want to know more about what's transpired.

Fair enough I'm going to infer by fantasy land you mean relegation which you don't believe is a possibility (this is me clarifying not questioning). Which is fair thanks for answering with a straight bat.

The performance over the last 12 months haven't been stellar for the most part, weve seemingly abandoned what made us good and the alternative isn't pretty. The manager has a lot of control over transfers and this last Window has been quite poor so far. Just a few reasons why some folk might feel that way. Personally I'm not sure. Willing to give him more time and hope he can turn it around. But again I don't take umbrage with those who continue to see nothing wrong or those questions things.

I don't think that's entitlement at all, again some folk will feel Eddie has taken us as far as they can, and this is the minority mind. Again nobody should questioning what has been done, it's a matter of fact and of course perfection isn't the benchmark if it was he'd be unemployed. Im not advocating him being sacked btw, but sometimes folk love to defend or post as if decisions made are beyond questioning which means we can basically get rid of this place as it's not needed. And again what he's done in the past is a statement or fact, you shouldn't infer from that sentence anymore than that I'm merely stating what has been done in the past is factual. I disagree with your point about Brownbottles point but this is tedious so not going to get into a debate. I would like to ask you however what's your line? Is there one? Eddie relegates us you still on board?

Where are we at Gordon? It's been a bit of a rollercoaster hasn't it? Started off poorly then was electric and has seemingly tailed back off again. Would love an admin to knock up a poll seeing if they'd keep or sell for say what we paid.

To clarify, the reason I reference the cup final is due to you mentioned in entitlement. Indeed that's all we've won since before most on here were born so what is this entitlement you speak of exactly? We've been absolutely honking on the road for what 12 months? That style of play that got us on the edge of our since is massively hit and miss nowadays to the point even the manager himself doesn't know what he's going to get. Does that inspire you with confidence? I'm still Eddie Howe in, you can check the polls, I'm also one of the few who's actually laid my cards out exactly where I stand. Nobody is denying what Eddie has done for us in the past, nor should they it's an actual fact but football isn't played in the past you can ask Froggy if you don't believe me. @TheBrownBottle put it perfectly for me personally I support Newcastle united, not Bruno, not Eddie Howe, not PIF or Mike Ashley and this my viewpoints will always reflect what I personally feel is best for the club.

Spoiled by what? Our one league cup win? Or deluded by ownerships big talk? Really trying to understand why your putting the boot in on people who have a different perspective to you. The most outspoken one on here was either ignored or condemned? If your referring to comments from the cesspit known as twitter I would completely disregard them but that's just me.
-
I remember the exact moment your referring to because I muttered to myself "what the fuck am I watching"
-
He was flagging after half an hour.

We are, but I think that's more due to the sitting deep and setting up to be flat. It's fine if you've got pressure on the ball but all too often we don't so our opponents often just walk into space between the lines.
-
In Eddie's defense he has them rotating more likely to create a bit of unpredictability and mix things up a bit.
-
You believe what you write which makes you good in my books. Some people although thankfully not many on here post just to be contriaian. I value the sincere its why despite disagreeing with @Yorkie frequently I think he's canny.
-
Cmon, your a good poster and I know your not insulting me but this place is much better when personal insults are kept for those who truly deserve it. The ethnic cleanser denier we had a few months back comes to mind.
-
Nah, I wouldn't be calling people melts because they have a different view to myself ultimately it's about priorities right. Some may feel going out in the semis is a worst choice than not having to play those extra games especially coanfiering the extra 2 champions leagues we will have to play. Ultimately it's about ideas and opinions my preference when I'm rational is too tackle the idea not the person. Tldr I see both sides
-
It's not a bit of a inconsistent run is probably why people are feeling less than confident. Most people feel we've regressed as a team, we aren't that team that won the cup and which used to smash teams with a high press, we are something else. Agree on your last point, you do indeed play to win. It's a shame that point got lost in translate at the SOS.
-
I see your point but we have to win this game like. The pressure will ratchet quickly if we performed like we did against the mackems tonight.
-
What you've mentioned is an issue I've been highlighting for sometime. Ultimately replacing the players who we are going to let leave for free is going to be really expensive and a massive impediment for us. It's one of the reasons why I'm massively concerned about squad cost our amortization will be through the roof. This summer is going to feel like a cross roads.
-
We can't afford to sign players who don't have resale value unfortunately.
-
He's on more than any of our players and is what 31? Good player but isn't for us.
-
No Shit sherlock, they will have been desperate to flog him to our owners for a massive inflated fee.
