Yeah I think we are between two ways of doing things and it’s causing a lot of the issues we are experiencing. 70m for Guehi ffs the 3 of them need to get fucking real. He says coaching is his preferred activity yes, but I’m not getting the impression he’d be thrilled with having players bought for him, he reiterated a few times yesterday he doesn’t want players which aren’t right etc and to be clear when he says aren’t right he means HE thinks aren’t right. Imo in a DOF led approach the first thing which needs to in place is the long term planning, how are we going to play? It has to be consistent regardless of the manager in this PSR era massive seize turnover simply isn’t possible so the plan must be long term and the club needs a DNA an identify. When it comes recruitment I believe the head coach needs to be clear about the positions he wants to focus on and the attributes of the players for said position, I don’t think the head coach should be vetoing players mind, ultimately the head coach will always have a more short term view than the club should have and this the DOF’ job is to provide that long term balance for things. as things stand I don’t think we have this.

Absolutely all of what you’ve said is true however it does appear we are now reaching a stage whereby cracks have emerged in the model. If your Eddie Howe you must feel a type of way about your decreasing influence, he’s a human and nobody likes to have that removed. In terms of this coaching first comment, coaching can only take you far unfortunately imagine trying to coax top 4 on that alone, it isn’t happening I’m afraid.

AS didn’t want the job as CEO YAR told her she could do it and she declined, she appointed eales. Aye it’s not a great look but at the same time it’s Mitchell is Howes superior and was hired to be a member of the board of directors, in business terms the manager wouldn’t be privy to such things either. Now obviously our football club isn’t a normal business case and Eddie has been absolutely fundamental in our growth and has definitely been involved to a point previously which is above his actual job title. it does feel to me as we are stuck between models and we are struggling as a result of that, let Eddie call all the shots or stick with our model and fully embrace it.

I read it and in not going to lie, I kinda hold all 3 of them responsible mind, not going to divvy up the blame but I think they’ve all agreed to go and chase Guehi to the ends of the earth mind.

We have a bit of a fundamental issue mind. If Eddie needs specific players for his side to function and all which seem to come at extremely high prices we are in a bind. Eddie leaves for whatever reason and the club has to pick up the pieces. To me it’s kinda clear we have some form of breakdown and a lack of strategy mind and of course Eddie is the one who will get the brunt of it. it’s also really interesting this briefing is telling another story compared to hopes. We now enter the briefing war period.

I have a question for everyone mind. 1, do we believe the club has a preference to sign players with PL experience? 2, if yes, do we believe this preference is the manager or the clubs? 3, do we believe we can juggle psr with this preference?

My friend the argument doesn’t wash, we had 70m to spend yet we are starting Krafth Murphy Miggy or longstaff. It’s obvious our failings this window can not be blamed solely on psr or having the right players available.

If you look and have a look at the links since Tonalis ban 90% of them are British based, we are absolutely petrified of making another mistake and have essentially locked our self into the most stupidly inflated market in the world in a league which has more financial controls than a multi national bank.

I’m not sure I agree with what your saying because Liverpool are a much more successful club than us, I’m not sure a siege mentality will be enough to see us through either. I think the blame/ responsibility for them in more technical in nature but I’m sure from where they are sitting they are paying people considerable sums to sort all of this. Yeah I see what you’re saying but I don’t see it the same sadly. Yes we need Eddie to perform Miracles but even if he does will it be enough? I think an overdue realisation is starting to occur throughout the club to be frank, we are banging our heads on the glass ceiling now our wings clipped. I ask you and everyone else,I think we can safely assume the club would have deemed this window a success if they just got Guehi in; would that have been enough to push into the CL? Because I don’t think it would be personally. It’s a big ask I know but if you aren’t back challenging for that this season we are in stagnation territory and that is an extremely difficult place to be in this league with the rules we have, you can ask West ham if you don’t believe me.

Agree but even this doesn’t have any form of consensus and it probably meets overall resistance if we can’t stay within 10 mins of our current location.
