  1. Pleased we've got him. His goal today was class, as soon as Diame gets it he's on his bike and in between defenders. Takes the finish early, proper striker. Keep him fit we get goals, simple
  2. Not linked but Danny Ings is available for loan, should be aal ower that
  3. Another waste of space gone. Deck clearing for the last few additions
  4. Not sure Burnley are nailed on to go down, think they will be around the bottom but Gray can get them goals. Can see Boro having a Bournemouth type season, Watford are making some canny additions to their squad and have strikers. With the Mackems it entirely depends on Defoe if they don't get another striker.
  5. I remember us thumping Ipswich away early 4-0, really set the tone for the season. Hopefully we are better defensively as we look vulnerable when teams have a go. Read that this will be their record home crowd in 20 years, we are really going to have to deal with being the team everyone is desperate to beat
  6. Hope he likes it being smashed up to him from 60 yards away with no support within 10 miles
  7. "Blue food colouring and Bisto gravy granules"
  8. Having lots of the ball hasn't worked at all so far this season, happy to let the opposition have it a bit more as we can set up to counter when we win it back. Still feeling our way into this season but confident we will get it right, especially with the bloke we have in the dugout
  9. I think the ability to be able to choke a game out is one of Rafa's main strengths. Has a way to go yet with us but once we get that right we will win plenty of games.
  10. any idea what's happening with Galloway? Could do with him in
  11. The players there haven't been playing for him for a good 6 months now
  12. Hate this s***. "Rivière wanted by several French clubs"
  13. The start we've had seems to be a mixture of nerves, adjustment to the Champ and Rafas tactics for the new players, maybe even the weight of expectation imo. I don't think the squad is that deficient, plus I can see us bringing in 2-3 more, the early season loss of Mitro is having an impact also. The one thing we should be reassured about is having this bloke as manager, he's a winner. His record shows that his teams win matches and he will be working very very hard to put it right as I'm sure the players will be. Having quality in the dugout and on the pitch usually shows through and I think it will sooner rather than later.
  14. Still think someone will chuck money at us for him, likely a PL club. Wouldn't rule out clubs like Everton or West Ham. Chelsea could come in and buy him as a "why not f*** it" type of signing.
  15. Wouldn't be against Anita playing RB, some of our best form under Rafa has come with him playing there. He thrives there as not as much is expected of him, he can snap away at the opposition and just recycle the ball. Playing him RM is just wrong
  16. The end game is in sight for this fraud at yet another club. Palace fans must be truely inspired listening to their manager basically say he is scared of West f****** Brom
  17. I'm absolutely convinced we will get much much better and it will likely end in a strong promotion challenge. We were the better side yesterday in the second half, things just aren't clicking. The team is bedding in, players are adjusting and still getting used to what Rafa is trying to get us to do. It's disconcerting that we have 0 points but it is what it is, games are coming thick and fast now which is a good thing.
  18. He looked unsure of what his role was, it looked for spells that he was just playing as a second striker and it didn't suit him. He needs games because he clearly wasn't match sharp
  19. Still think he will score north of 15 this season. He is struggling to lead the line at the moment but at lot of it has to do with the general dysfunction of the team, he should have scored that early chance. Suprised at his pen like he is normally lethal when I've seen him take them in the past but at least he put the rebound in. His pen definately smacked of someone low on confidence, far too early to write him off as s***.
  20. i disagree. Last week 2 definte defensive CM's with another in the team. Today 2 players sitting with a hardly attacking Anita with them. Took him till hallf time at home to Huddersfield and a goal down to tell Shelvey to push on and even then he took off width to do it. I love that Rafa has made us a football club again but he's given me no confidence in 12 games. No confidence in 12 games? We spent half of those on an unbeaten run, no? Perhaps he doesn't trust his defence yet and, judging by the evidence, rightly so. They also need drilling for the new style. Don't think today was 2 sitting midfielders, Shelvey has attacking quality in this league (see the last time he was in it, tore it to pieces), he's not some sitting duck that doesn't contribute going forward. Anita I agree with, I don't like that situation - we need balance and quality on the flanks. Unbeaten run ? We beat Spurs afterwe'd been relegated and they'd exploded after losing the title. T Am I being mental here or did we not go 6 games unbeaten at the back end of last year? That's half of the current managers total games for the club, in which he's had to impart his ideas onto new players twice... Those games...we were poor V Palace amd WBA, crap teams and we weren't better than them, Villa away, must win and at no point did we look like doing it, Liverpool couild have been out of sight by half time (that first half was as bad a 45 as I've seen NUFC play in the premier). If you look coldly at results we done well. If you look at performances....well thats something different. We were an abomination last season, to get us as close as he did was an achievement, 2 games more we would have still been a PL side. Turning NUFC around from top to bottom is going to be impossible without time.
  21. We were just far too deep, Shelvey was picking it up on the edge of our penalty area a lot of the time. With Mbemba in the side and at this level we should be 10 yards further up the pitch. Huddersfield got hold of it early on and realised there was f*** all to worry about
  22. It was s*** but we should have got something like, totally dominant second half without any cutting edge. Our left side is the problem, no doubt about it. We lack balance on the left and it needs to be sorted. Still think we will be top 2 but obviously we need to get our f****** act together, we look like a side who really haven't adjusted to the level at all.
