Based on nowt more than a hunch but I think we have got the better striker in Gayle, definately quicker anyway. Should be serious goals in our team with potentially another winger and striker to come in.

Newcastle United promoted back to the Premier League

9. Unbeaten at home at 5/1 is a decent bet. We need to win 30 games imo to win the league. Can see it happening -
Brighton in talks to sign Pritchard
-
Don't know much about him but you would think he should be fine as cover in the Championship. If we were in the PL and he was our main CB signing then that would be a time to fret, not in these circumstances.

Sorry lads, Louise Taylor is the author

'Closing in' on Knockeart according to the guardian

Remember the last game down there. 1-0 defeat and one of the worst performances ever, it was peak Pards

Would have been a good year to be in the PL under Rafa
-
Well anyone who watched the Euros for a start. Plus he's made over 100 games for Villa so its likely a lot of people will have seen at least one game of his. He's not some obscure foreign youngster Ok. He s*** then?
-
Who in here as seen him play in a game?

Dafuq

We'll offer him more money than Hull
-
Would be suprised if no PL clubs are in for him
-
He needs to put himself about more. Carroll did this in our championship season, he didn't just score goals but whipped some great crosses in and was involved in a lot of our good play. He caused defenders loads of problems with his physical presence and was good in our penalty area as well. When you watch Mitro it seems like he has the weight of the world on his shoulders. The daft spats he has with opposition CB's and officials shows it. Maybe it's the expectation put on his shoulders, being our main striker signing and expected to lead the line in the PL for a struggling side. Hopefully this can be a breakout season and he can get into double figures

We just got 25m from Wijnaldum and will probably get something similar for Sissoko, no way can Brighton resist if we go high enough. Which in all honesty there is no reason we shouldn't do if the club is serious about Rafa being in complete control. We can't be held to ransom just because we've got money. Anything above 10m would be excessive but it depends on just how much Rafa wants him. There's certainly alternative options out there if they refuse to deal with us at a realistic price. Aye but it's Brighton (no offence to them ) I doubt they'll be in a position to hold out for extreme amounts. They'll accept anything around 10-13m imo, also I'd argue most of the signings were a bit excessive this summer bur if you can then so be it. I get the feeling they won't listen to any offers from us unfortunately.

Would be great but it looks like a really difficult deal to do. Can't see Brighton selling
-
Wonder if Rafa has made a decision on him yet, assuming we do sign another striker it's best he goes out on loan. He needs consistent games which it doesn't look like he will get here.
-
No doubt we looked at every decent French prospect between 2011-2013. We still pursued Thauvin though last summer. Despite numerous knock backs, questions over his character we forked out huge money for him. Even McClaren went to Charnely and Carr and told them we needed a CB, but we signed players like this instead.

Good. Can't wait to get this joker off the books, never wanted to join and never wanted to make a go of his career here. Another Carr disaster, sackable offence signing this lad. It frees up more money to go and give Brighton what they want for Knockeart
-
Someone like knockeart and another striker would do nicely. The squad is almost there imo just needs the final touches.
-
Honestly? Take a look at Burnley's squad from last year. Half of our team today are full internationals and nearly all of them have played regular top flight football. With a world class manager guiding them. And we are going to sign more players
-
Thanks. That made me smile

I'd be disappointed if next season we don't hear how Tom Huddlestone is one of the premier leagues greatest
-
Have not seen that anywhere, he was quoted as saying that? Or is it an assumption based on him being a forrin and our relegation? It's been well reported in the Chronicle. He played okay for Marseille and it's been reported he would be keen to go back. Read somewhere that his lass wants to move back to France. His signing was a disaster from the start, if he stays fine but I don't think he would get in our side. Just move him on imo
