  1. Says a lot when most of us are happy with the loss. What a mess this club is in.
  2. This. 50,000 people are p*ssed off and 8 have the balls to stand up be counted. Agreed
  3. There was a fair few of our lot singing sacked in the morning where I was. If only it were true...
  4. Why would you expect us to sign someone so early in the window...that would suggest we have a plan.
  5. Maybe we should take a clue from Ashley and not care either. Don't turn up for matches, don't watch them on the TV, don't listen on the radio, don't buy any merchandise, don't go on forums and discuss them, don't talk about the club to other clueless Americans who only support Man U or Arsenal and maybe then there will be change...But I doubt it.
  6. The really sad part about today's match is that we should have been able to play losse and free flowing football. We are not in a relegation scrap, the result matters but all the pressure should have been on the scum. They needed the points more than we did. But yet we contrived to look like a total shambles. That to me lads is down to coaching.
  7. Same. Never felt as apathetic in my years supporting the club. My feelings exactly. It's sad really.
  8. What a sad, sad, time to support the Toon.
  9. This has all the makings of we "couldn't get it over the line" transfer.
  10. Serious question - so far do you think he's made money out of owning the club? And if so how? He's getting millions of pounds' worth of worldwide exposure for his main interest (which coincidentally has increased in value by over 700% in the last five years) via probably the world's most popular sporting event, for free. Just that.
  11. No. Steelers fan. And Penguins for hockey.
  12. Won't change my name. i have a lot of fun being a yankee fan livinng in Twinky territory.
  13. Forget the Twins. Join the dark side and support the Yankees.
  14. I agree with this 100%. I mentioned the same thing in the game thread. If we don't get an owner who is willing to spend, the only hope we have is the EPL implementing a salary cap like all the other major sports in the U.S. The salary cap would in theory level the playing field for all clubs to be able to compete. Until either of those two things happen, not much to look forward to. There is no suggestion a salary cap would help us though. We'd not only need to get the right players in we would need a decent coaching setup. If you support the US teams that your username suggests then you'll know that doesn't always happen. I support other teams than my name would suggest. But a salary cap would help in my estimation. If not a salary cap, how about a cap on the transfer fees that a team can pay in any given transfer window. That would help. It is just so sad that you can basically predict the top 4 teams every year in the EPL.
  15. LOL. I think we all realize that unless there is a change in ownership, we are going nowhere fast. Very disheartening.

  17. I would be more upset with this result had this present season had some meaning. So what if we get a draw. 1 pt. Still in 8th and seriously no hope of moving any further. No real prospects of signing anyone of quality, no real hope of any proper investment in the future, so why get upset. Only two things will help us in the forseeable future: 1) New ownership that is willing to spend serious money on players; or 2) The EPL implementing a salary cap like all major sports in the US, to put all clubs on a more equal footing. Until such time, why get upset over one match in Jan. when you support a middle table and going nowhere else club.
  18. It is so depressing to think about the rest of this season. Come to think of it, not just this season, but all the future ones as long as we have a cowardly manager and an owner that has no ambition.
