I never really saw De Jong as a #10, more of a goal scoring midfielder like Nolan. Perez for me would be the sort of player who should be a good #10 in that he is creative as well as capable of getting goals. The problem is there have been too many games which have just passed him by in the last couple of seasons.

Can't agree it's that open and shut. Perez has the attributes to be a quality number 10 and has put in some great displays there for us. He's just not doing it at present.

The back four is shocking. Clark has to be there instead of Dunk.

I still think Perez is the most talented of the three. He's just weak as piss and it's so evident in this league.

How did wor Daryl play this weekend? Can't bring myself to sit through the full 90 replay just yet.

His debut against Chelsea still gives me faint hope he might one day rise up against the soul-sucking Dummett and save us all.

I'm another who thought he played alright tonight. Actually looks more confident now than I've seen him all season. He fluffed chances but he was involved regularly and was our best attacking outlet in the 2nd half (I missed 1st), which is something we've been short of without Gayle.

This. Unlike previous 'managers' he has evidence that his way actually works. Naturally you give it way more time before writing it off.

For whatever reason Hayden isn't coming back to protect the CB's like he used to. He is a threat going forward but as you say it's much more important he fills the holding role and breaking up play.

I'd be inclined to agree but I think it's nerves rather than complacency. The back 4 haven't looked comfortable since November time. We've lost the iron-fist domination Rafa had running through us in the season's first half.
