6 points from 18 and an FA Cup is 'not bad' is it? We lost 1-0 away to the bottom side in the league, lost 2-0 away to Chelsea (where we played well for 45 mins), lost 2-1 at home to that middle class team, won 3-0 at one of the only teams in the top flight worse than us, drew 1-1 at home to a Stoke side that hardly turned up and now a 1-1 draw away at Crystal f***ing Palace. Not bad at all.

I'm struggling to work out what we have to look forward to in the foreseeable future. I don't get the point of supporting the club at the moment- yet the majority of our fans are happy. I don't get it. Someone please explain it to me. My head hurts.
-
Don't deserve that, we've been absolutely fucking brilliant
-
This is fucking horrible. Starting to think the good times (ie being slightly entertaining to watch) will never come back.
-
Eugh. I reckon we could do with focusing on looking after the ball. This league is absolutely terrible quality-wise at the moment, and if we could keep possession a bit better, we could actually end up having a pretty good season.

I've always been an avid fan of the one where they replay an event that's just happened and wind it back and forth really quickly...has always cracked me up
-
Best English midfielder in the league in my opinion, absolutely world class
-
Riveting stuff.

Will judge him when he finally gets his chance at his natural no.10 position. You can't play on the wing when you've got the acceleration of a continent
-
Why why why why why do BT Sport think that Michael Owen is an acceptable commentator?
-
That Colin goon on Twitter reckons it's a done deal...but he is Colin from Twitter to be fair

First half yay, second half nay. Anita played well. Ayoze did okay but looked frustrated at times, but I would be too if I was him. Cabella should play in the hole behind Ayoze. Dummett can defend okay but not much else. Willo is shit. Colo is past it. Janmaat is great most of the time then has momentary lapses of concentration. Whole defence looks more confident with Krul in goal though. Colback played well in the first half then resorted to running around chasing shadows in the second. Sammy...meh. Gouffran...meh. Rivière...meh. Carver...meh. Quicker Garde gets in the better. I will hurt multiple people if Venables gets the job.
-
Really? I thought it was pretty deft in the first half, struggled last few times he's received the ball though.
-
Willo and Gouff offer nothing. Absolutely nothing.
-
Why can't Gouffran be a real man and substitute himself
-
1. Bad first touch/could have cleared it with his first touch 2. Doesn't bust a gut to get back 3. He hits the ball out for a corner 4. He taps it out so they can take a quick corner Of course it's his fault. Out for a corner which every defender would do in that situation. Also, not sure because only saw the replay once but wasn't it a different ball that Willian took the corner with. Dummett was much more at fault For me if he could have controlled it better, he could have booted it into the stands and would have had time to get back into position
-
Good start. Cabella really isn't a winger

Glad le Tissier disagreed with the drunken goon, but he's few and far between. I would love us to get someone decent in, win games, play some attractive football and prove everyone wrong but knowing Newcastle, Merson's relegation scrap prediction will come true and everyone across the country will be peddling the 'joke club' tag...again.

Exactly. As a southerner, Londoner and immigrant rolled into one (yep, the most evil of all ), it surprises me how much anti-southern/cockney rhetoric there is on here and elsewhere. The cockney thing makes me cringe, it's like every Londoner is a cockney on here. Cockney culture has been and gone, and London has a variety of different people, accents and backgrounds. If I'm totally honest sometimes I feel a bit ostracised as a NUFC fan when I see phrases like 'cockney Mafia out' and 'southern boys' club' uttered with the same neglect and flippancy as those who chastise the North east. Thanks for the generalisation, I'll have a long hard look in the mirror tonight.

If de Boer came that would be unreal. Not sure he would come though, Vurnon probably wont give us a decent character reference If Ashley's looking for cheap and English/British then I'd love to see Howe here. Didn't work out for him completely at Burnley but his teams keep the ball and tend to score goals. He would have a pretty good squad to work with and a chance to add a couple in Jan. Still though, I somehow think we'll be hearing the phrase 'over the line' from our favourite silver-haired twat for the next couple of windows

Just read this thread from since I last posted yesterday early evening. Erm. Holy fucking shit. I don't know what to believe. Is this happening? How? Why? My head hurts from the excitement. The only thing I'm sure of is how much I hate Pardew for dominating my time, all the fucking time. But could this be the best end to the year ever? Eddie Howe please.

We'll beat burnley comfortably and he'll start going on about the top 4 again
