I’d argue all of them were knee jerk appointments, particularly the ones made because they were the last person to speak to either him or one of his cronies in a casino. The plan for McLaren was laughable. We’re going to bring in someone who hasn’t managed at the top level in years because I’ve been told he is a good coach. Not much but it’s the same as everything else, the owners haven’t got their house in order so who knows what the plan is. I cannot see them going all out for a real actual manager and not bringing in their own people, who would take the job?

My assumption is that whoever they bring in will have their own people rather than us deliberately keeping a Steve for the banter and continuity.
