Seriously Edit: Just read that, he was really sick on SAS on Ch4, and withdrawn. Has he been a drinker in retirement, unusual condition otherwise. -

Champions League, how fucking good is Eddie Howe, seriously! He joined a side almost relegated, he's taken us to cup final and lost the least amount of games. He's a top man. -

Spurs have absolutely nothing to lose, I can imagine they've been told to go for it, I'm surprised they're all up in our half. Hope we punish them with more -

I don't think Lloris is hurt, this manager has clashed with him at HT, The stand in coach is utterly useless. -

In the pre match thread I literally bigged up how good we would be with Bruno and Joelinton paired up, and Willock as the carrier, couldn't have been more wrong. Before the goal we got an early warning when Watkins hit the post in the first few minutes, from then on we constantly left huge gaps between the centre backs, and Watkins chose to expose Trippier. Once they scored it was perfect to go down at every opportunity, the ref played right into it, gave them everything they wanted. Although that left side looked atrocious in the first half, Gordon not interested, and Burn looking clumsy, nothing really altered in the second, other than Almiron looking like he could score, should he stay composed. No problem with losing like that, it's a bit humiliating, but, it was going to happen again, the only slight issue I did have, was quite a few were nowhere near their usual levels. We looked stressed or something? Was a bizarre turnout considering our recent excellent run. Guess we need to galvanise for the Spurs game, get Saint-Maximin back on the left and Miggy on the right.

Total shite.

Also looks like Watkins is going closer to Trippier, like he has the advantage on him, and waiting for Ramsey and others to feed off anything, it's working. I think tactical change might be necessary, even to get back in for a draw.
-
Abysmal, that left side is a joke with Burn and Gordon. Gordon doesn't look like he's got it in him.

Aston Villa vs. Newcastle United: 15/04/23 @ 12:30 (BT Sport)

They've not faced a midfield like ours, if Joelinton is paired up with Bruno, and Willock is the runner, we should have a good afternoon. -
Leroy Sane

Joelinton and Bruno should always be paired up, and Willock as the outlet, I get Longstaff is a grafter, but Joelinton in the middle makes us so much stronger. It seems like he can play every midfield position, but CM and interchange with Bruno dropping deeper to compliment each other, just works.

No neither do I as pointed out at the beginning of the post. Being a new lad and still learning his new managers motives, he needs to look at his colleagues, who when also new to this club have gone above and beyond to settle in, Bruno was an absolute professional in his early stages, Howe gave him something like 5 minutes for about 6 games on the trot, at times I thought Howe was taking the piss, god knows what Bruno was thinking, but he just knuckled down, I felt Howe was originally going to try the same method with Botman also, but if I remember rightly, he was forced into throwing Botman in, then when Howe realised Botman was the man he had no choice but to pick him for every game ever since ? I'd say all the same above about Isak, he's been a top professional. Gordon will learn like many of you have said, it was just petulant for me given the importance of our run.
-
People understand why he may have the hump, but when this run of games is so important, and as others point out about Murphy being double subbed and just cracking on, Gordon needs to learn it's not about him. I didn't appreciate his reaction toward Howe, and then trying to rip his shirt off. Needs to grow a pair.

Schade loved going to ground, what a cheating wanker. Pope at times has me shitting my pants, he's a top keeper no denying, but, he seems to do the odd random weird things at times. Thought we were good, if some players had a tad more capacity upstairs, we could have easily seen them off sooner. What was the little bit of drama from Anthony Gordon at the end?

West Ham United 1-5 Newcastle United (05/04/2023)

It's so true, even Utd felt it last week, their manager wanted to cry over them not being hungry, truth is yes we were hungry, but we were fitter, stronger, and together. -

The difference is all in the fitness and energy levels Eddie has installed in every player, West Ham dropped around 70 minutes, our players have that extra and it shows. Fitness is key here, and the rotation with them all being fit now is spot on. Everything is going to plan. Howe has got this, we just need to keep these levels, and keep players fit.
