  1. Nobody on here gets sarcasm at all. Or reads all the posts, skim readers. I'll stick with, Diaby or Maddison/Moukoko In that order.
  2. If anyone remembers Dan Ashworth being sandwiched between Chappers, Heskey, and Shay recently, you'll remember him being quizzed by Shay, he wasn't giving much away, however his body language was saying otherwise, and he mentioned 25 man squad, similarly Howe has also done the same, talking about the squad at capacity, and for movement to take place players would leave, rather than us adding extra onto what we have. So like mentioned here, it is likely they want to bring a player or two in, so expect one or two out. If Wood is moved out, I'd say its extremely likely someone is inbound, and the league and cup status has probably helped ramp up the confidence to brave this window, again.
  3. Want to see this achieved before safe standing.
  4. I personally think Moukoko and Moussa Diaby are top of list, if they were achieved this month. If it moves onto summer, then that changes.
  5. Read all this drivel that's cascaded into now comparing him to Maxi? Also Woods statistics as a forward? Originally weighed in, because I'm sick to the back teeth of the Wood played a massive part in us staying up crew. I'll say Bruno did, Bruno was the major factor, had Howe not held him back at times early on, (which I understood) I think we'd have squeezed more out. But its hindsight. Enjoy your own opinions on Wood, each to their own etc. For me Jaquen makes the best points and reply, following this mess.
  6. Thank you for making a miles better point than me just shitting on him. He obviously was part of a side that stayed up because they were being led by a manager who has had a sensational 12 months. Factoring in things like integral, considerable, and major contributor are too far fetched for me.
  7. I'm not sure what you think he did that was such a factor, I'm not that convinced. But that's fine. I've enjoyed, considerably, and now major .
  8. Did he bollocks, I couldn't wait for Wilson to get fit, Wood was stale. It's another opinion, that differs to others, I knew we'd be back here with this chat, everyone was done with Wood after his howler against Sheffield. Now its the classic, he kept us up, give over.
  9. Worse one I remember, West Ham v Blackpool play off final, Hammers fans above Blackpool fans pissing in bottles and pouring it down onto fans. Grim
  10. I don't remember Chris Wood helping us stay up, it's a myth someone came up with to paper over how shite he is. There was 10 other players and a class manager doing most of it, he was just another number, bang average and over priced.
  11. Sure,?? You should start a new topic with a poll, asking how long until we win a title, maybe it would prove I'm madder for not believing its anytime in the next 5 seasons? And btw, I'd love nothing more than me being wrong. Would be an interesting poll.
  12. We were a top side in the 90s no doubt, and statistically you're right, mentally we were never going to be champions, the game vs Blackburn proved this for me. But the long and short of it is we never were, and we never won anything with one of our best sides, like I said, I felt something was missing. Nearly! we threw away the chance, and it still haunts me a tad. Listen, I'm not getting insulting over this one, the 9pts off Arsenal now thing means absolutely fuck all, you can't gauge that of the back of last season and predict we'll be challenging for the title in the near future. It's going to be a slow process, anyone thinking otherwise is mad.
  13. We weren't we were always missing something, and Manchester Utd were serial winners, we always came close but never managed it. Were you around for the KK times yourself? We only truly came close once, but like I said something was missing, even Keegan knew he'd taken us as far as he could. And on now, I do believe it will take a while, we all thought at the start of the season 7th or a Europa spot would be a success of the back of surviving relegation, that's still a realistic target, we're over achieving slightly and nobody would have had us in this position and a cup semi, but other things have played a part, yes we've lost one game and that's amazing, but Liverpools dip, Spurs, Chelsea etc, these things have all come into play along with our excellent form and made this season unpredictable. I'll stand by what I said, we wont be champions for a good while, and that's another debate. The bit in bold, I do believe you're getting carried away, but dont think it's a patronising or arrogant reply, I wish I had that confidence, I guess we'll see as it unfolds, so much can still change as it did in 95, we were sat top of the league at this stage with 18 games played.
  14. But if you've supported Newcastle as long as I have, then you'd know we've never been in a position to be champions, are we blaming flair players for us never winning anything? How have you stuck around supporting us this long if you want a team of champions? I couldn't think of anything worse than a bunch of hard working result grinders, managed by a boring fucker like Mourinho. I want to enjoy this, I want to enjoy Howe, the players taking us on the beginning of the new era, we'll build slowly, we'll get it wrong, and we'll get it right, the Man City model is probably a vision these owners might duplicate, or, it might be very different. I find it unusual you'd say being a talented baller isn't enough, you need those types of players, because one player can't do it all, I'm sure Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea, have all had a baller who couldn't do everything, but, in a side with many good players around you, that said player was appreciated for what he did bring I'm sure. We cant be running before we can walk, and if this takeover produces success, it will take ages before we see Newcastle champions, perhaps because we are currently over achieving if we're honest, are some people seriously writing off good players and demanding a team of champions already? because we find ourselves third in the league, and in a semi final of a cup. Just enjoy it man, tbh it's a miracle its happening, (although its divided fans because of where the money has come from,) but on the football side of things I thought my one and only enjoyment was going to be the 90s, an eleven year old buzzing over watching Keegan's entertainers, full of flair players, never won a thing, but, it was the best time of my life, like you want a team of champions now, I never got one then, but I still loved it. Newcastle were everyone's second team, because we played the game in the right way, 'The Entertainers' Jesus I've done a HTT. Honestly man, Maxi isn't the problem, he will be the solution in certain games, just wait and see. And don't be worrying about being a team of champions, it's going to hopefully happen, I just hope I'm here when it does. ☺️??
  15. I definitely think he should be in the first eleven pal. But we all have different opinions. He's not so much as popular on this forum as he is on other platforms, and it always seems when players are criticised he gets plenty even when he does well, I think because he shines under a donkey like Steve Bruce we all remember that superstar, but, since all these lads that Bruce used to have are now trained correctly, they're all much fitter, sharper, mentally tuned, we now see not just that one player shine, they're all at good levels, I'm one of ASM biggest advocates on here, I think most of the players under 12 months of Howe have adapted and reached their top levels in terms of fitness mentality and physically, Maximin is still catching up, but he is 100% capable, it might just be hes taking longer, cast your mind back to Man City, he was the best player on both sides. Honestly turn your focus to other players, now and then, I know what it's like, I go ape when Wood, Murphy, even Lascelles are in the side, gets on my tits, Maxi is not in those levels of coming on and offering absolutely fuck all. All said in a good heart pal??
  16. Joelinton is better in the middle. Love ASM he needs to start playing on the left and Joe back in CM. I'd normally say drop Longstaff, but with Bruno out now, Joelinton Longstaff and Willock will surely be the midfield for a few weeks, its probably good timing for ASM this, nobody wants Bruno missing, but this now accommodates ASM nicely. He also needs it to start showing his best again. I thought he did a decent job from half time, especially in a game that was really, well awkward at times.
  17. I do wonder if Eddie popped in here to take inspiration from my pre match line up, that included the unlikely lads up front together?
  18. Must say I love it when games like this turn out how it did. The pen that for me wasn't a pen, The ex player messing it up, Players not playing particularly well, Losing our maestro to injury, An unlikely partnership combines to score the unlikely goal. We play poor and steal the show! Fucking get in!!! ???
  19. That lad needs to stay as our box to box, he's immense. CM nowhere else unless were stuck.
