  1. The worlds greatest goalkeeper was at fault, apparently* *According to RTG so please don't blame me if this is not accurate.
  2. What's the patter with this, like? Nowt on Google. Try twitter. But not at work. OK I get the jizz of it. FYP. Is it actually his mum or not? She's a right dirty mare.
  3. I have sympathy for Barton in the fact that I agree that having a gambling addiction is incredibly tough when combined with a love for football. The footballing authorities and clubs are more than happy to sell their soul to gambling companies in order to make money. Gambling companies exploit vulnerable addicts with constant adverts and opportunities to place bets. I mean fgs, usually before every TV kick off and at HT we have an advert giving us the latest odds on goalscorers and correct scores. Grounds are surrounded by bookmakers, odds and adverts. However, he shouldn't have ever bet on a game that he is involved in. The fact that he did is the reason his ban is so lengthy. The amounts that he placed are irrelevant, they also need to set a clear precedent moving forward that players caught doing it will be harshly dealt with. It's sad that the FA didn't give Barton the option of reducing his ban if he went through some sort of rehabilitation process. That would not only encourage him to get the help he quite clearly needs but also set a good example that the FA aren't just the bent, backstabbing bunch of 60 year old white men that we know they are.
  4. So essentially, they are saying we've been giving bungs to players/agents as unofficial signing on fees without putting them through the proper processes and therefore not paying tax? The fact that we are one of several clubs being investigated, but all in relation to French players would suggest the person or people in France are orchestrating it but we've stupidly agreed to do it (along with West Ham and co.) We'll get hit by a fine like, but they'll never dock us points or drop us down the leagues. Potentially we could have a transfer embargo, but that'll be it. It'll not be resolved any time soon either, so we'll be fine this summer but may not be next summer.
  5. I for one am very shocked that it transpires something involving Mike Ashley/Lee Charnley/Graham Carr is bent.
  6. Think this we be the start of Rafa experimenting. Wouldn't be surprised to see Mitro and Murphy start upfront together as they did v Birmingham in the FA Cup. Regardless, I'd like us to win this to put pressure on Brighton against Bristol City on Saturday. You never know at this time of year, they could drop points there and give us a title-showdown on the final day.
  7. Gone with Chelsea HT/FT and Walsall v Port Vale BTTS. Separate bets.
  8. Aye, it was literally so obvious as well. Didn't try to hide it at all like. Referee took an age to give it like, I wonder if the linesman had a word in his ear because he didn't blow or point for a penalty for ages after it happened. Having just watched the full 90 thing on the official site, it was only 7 seconds from the time he handled it, to the red being shown It felt like an eternity.
  9. I went for a 4. I've enjoyed visiting new grounds, some class away days, the new hope and optimism, the brief League Cup run, some excellent performances (particularly away from home where we are usually dreadful) and having Rafa as our manager. I've not enjoyed the football at times, the turgid teams/supporters at this level, the absolutely atrocious officiating or the incessant moaning on here after every negative result. Overall I've enjoyed it, but I hope we wont be here again.
  10. Clark, for me. He's been immense from start to finish and it's no surprise that we struggled without him. I'd have said him or Ritchie, but Ritchie has had some real stinkers like whereas I think Clark has been consistently good all year. He also arrived with zero expectations, whereas we all knew Ritchie was a class player at this level.
  11. Definitely keen to see how he does next season, really like him.
  12. Don't think I've seen a striker as low on confidence as him in a while like Shitting hell. So desperate for a goal but such terrible finishing. The team were desperate for him to score too, setting him up as well as they could at any point. I think Rafa's asked him to take on a slightly different role recently. He was much deeper today (and v Leeds) and being used as an old fashioned target man. Balls sent into him and him flicking on, passing it around etc. His vision and pass for the Atsu goal was very good. He seems to have lost a bit of weight and gets around the pitch a bit better. He's quite obviously got no pace, but he is much more mobile than he was this time last year. Chasing down a lot more dead passes and forcing mistakes. His passing is a lot better too. I still think he and Gayle would work superbly together, similar to the roles that he and Perez played tonight (which also worked well but was aided by Perez having his best game of the season tonight). Not sure if we'll keep him, I think there is a good player in there but only in the right system. Whether or not Rafa can work him in this system we'll see. I wouldn't be devastated if he left but I am desperate to see him succeed with us because he's such a likeable lad.
  13. He looked like he had never played football before last night like, was absolutely atrocious. Strange really, as Leeds was one of his best performances all season. It's been a strange season like that, where players will have outstanding games followed by absolute trash.
  14. Aye, it was literally so obvious as well. Didn't try to hide it at all like. Referee took an age to give it like, I wonder if the linesman had a word in his ear because he didn't blow or point for a penalty for ages after it happened.
  15. I, like everyone else, am so concerned that we could lose him. It's honestly like having a worldie as a girlfriend and wetting yourself every day that she's going to run off with a better man than you I think he'll stay, as long as Ashley gives him what he wants. Whether or not that'll happen, we'll soon find out. There is no reason for him to leave unless Ashley handicaps him. He's at a club where every single supporter adores him, a club that could genuinely be used as the type of project that he wants and is relatively close to Liverpool. As has already been mentioned, he'll be linked away from us nearly every day throughout every transfer window and whenever another club is looking for a manager.
  16. I think last night was just clear evidence as to the nerves that have been on and off the pitch this season. At 1-0 and 1-1, the players and crowd were quite clearly nervous. The stop/start play, poor passes, poor touches, atmosphereless stadium. I think it goes a long way to explain our poor performances at the end of the season, the players/supporters know just how important it is to return at the first time of asking. As soon as we went 3-1 up, the pressure disappeared, the stadium was at it's noisiest and we started to play some of the best football we have all season. Anyway, fantastic night - great performance in the end and HAPPY PROMOTION EVERYONE!
  17. I've stuck a big wedge on this. £200 returned £420 (price I got was 11/10) Praise the lord for that late 1st half goal!
  18. The best I have seen him play in a long time, he was outstanding last night.
  19. A draw? Where people will be content and looking forward to sealing promotion at Cardiff.
  20. The way it's written on Williamhill it sounds like each team to get a card in both half, which makes it less appealing. Tbf the wording of it it terrible 'At Least 1 Goal In Each Half, Each Team A Card & A Corner Both In Each Half' Aye, I'm starting to wonder if it is a card in each half now. Just seems strange how the 1st and 3rd part of it are clearly stating "in each half".
  21. Ticket page seems to have been knackered all afternoon. You'll need to phone to find out.
