two of last seasons PL clubs in the bottom 4. I remember people saying at the start of the season (not NUFC fans) that it was a relatively easy championship last year and this one will be much tougher. what bollocks.
  2. Two legs wern’t off the ground, and he showed no more studs then you would in any challenge. Well that is just bollocks. he's gone straight into the player with both legs, looking at the replay the studs showing leg appears to go straight into the players ankle. You could give a yellow for that but I don't think you can argue with the red in today's game. He never went in two footed, his trailing leg was tucked behind him, and his leading foot even dipped just before the point of impact so the player never went in with his studs. He goes in with a bait of pace and a bit late, that is all. Well regardless if you dive into a tackle with studs showing and miss the ball and go through the player you can't really blame the ref for sending him off. Its borderline but there is enough there for a red card. Read what I said and watch the relay again. He doesn’t go in with his studs. He has a bit of pace on his run in and is late, but that is all, everything else was done ok for a tackle. It’s a yellow card for being late, that is all. You're wrong

  5. studs showing two legs off the ground. Red for me (well its borderline but by no means unexpected)
  6. We go from playing 1 game every week to playing 3 in our final week. Teams like Spurs are quick to pipe up at the fixture congestion when they go far in cups and Europe, despite them having bigger squads. Of course this has potential to adversely affect us, no reason why Spurs can't be the ones playing games close together that week considering they were the ones progressing. Well no its 3 games in 8 days so that's one extra game not two. As I said if they are still in both cups then i think it would be an excellent time to play spurs.
  7. If our game with Spurs is moved to the end of the season wouldn't mind that to be honest. Gives us more of a chance to keep our run going, we'll have a decent idea of what we need to get from it by then and if they're still in both cups they'll have a fuckload of games around then i would imagine. They often tire towards the end of the season as well.
  8. I'd love to see a premier league table based on minutes that teams have been behind for. Think we'd be top half easy
  9. There's a certain camera angle which shows his leg would have to swing at an angle which would likely have led to a mis-kick. He takes the extra touch to adjust but it's too late. I think his standing foot was in the wrong position and he'd essentially have kicked it into himself.
  10. I completely agree it's best to not get carried away. However, neither Darlow or Elliot have given that much of a composed and all round goalkeeping display this season. The thing that really impressed me was early in the game when he came for that cross. We haven't had a goalkeeper with that presence for so long i forgot they were allowed to do that. Makes me think he'll do well, his mentality is to command the box. We don't let opponents have too many shots so I'm more bothered about someone whose going to throw his weight around rather than pull of blinding saves every week
  11. shit weekend for charlie adam like. Makes a twat of himself by getting in a fight for the pen and missing in the 90th minute, with all the teams around them winning. This has got to be really bad for Stoke's morale
  12. You look through the table and you could make a case for any team except maybe Bournmouth or West Ham going down. Madness
  13. Good point on match of the day about Southampton playing 5 of their next 6 games away. Difficult run in for them. If we play how we did tonight i can't see how we will going down. We must have spent less time behind this season than any other team in the bottom half, we're difficult to beat, we just need a source of goals, and hopefully that can be Slimani
  14. palace have no zaha and four of the top six in the next 5 games. By the same token hopefully they lose those and are in the relegation zone, then its either beat teams also fighting for the drop or go down themselves.
  15. Best one since Shearer certainly. I don't think even Shearer lead by example (at least on the field) the way Jamaal does. Possibly as its not really something you can do as a striker. Not knocking him like he basically kept us in the top half for 5 seasons, but Jamaal is fighting for our premier league status with every minute at the minute.
  16. I'm less worried about this because he's not the sort of defender top 6 clubs usually go for. If he was to be sold it would be to an everton or west ham or someone. Think they'd want to see one more season in this league anyway.
  17. We didn't win because of their poor finishing. If they didn't score it was because of good keeping and defending.
  18. Swansea looked out of it a few games ago and they're worse than Stoke. Such a crazy relegation season with how close it is I have no idea what the baseline is this season. Given how many teams are in contention, i reckon safety is anywhere between 34 and 42 points.
  19. Agreed. We're better with him the team no question. Aye. I don't think he's much good but sadly he's probably the best option we have at LB at the moment, losing him for three months is a blow. He's crap at anything other than defending but he's solid enough that Atsu or Aarons ahead of him will have the freedom to get forward at will. I think for a club in our position, Dummett gets unfairly railed for his on-the-ball (lack of) ability. There's a lot to be said for a solid defensive full back when you're just trying to stay alive in a division. Might be a stretch, but Danny Simpson seemed clueless both going forward and defending. Personally I'm quite worried about our defence without Dummett at left back. I've been arguing Dummett is unfairly criticised since half way through last season if we're playing that game
  20. It made absolutely no sense. Wasn't in a dangerous area or anything. Such a shit dive as well. Threw himself like a fucking salmon.
  21. At the start of this season, and at the start of last season, even though he has been captain he's had to fight for his position in the team. At the start of last season he wouldn't have made half or more's starting XI and the same for this season, and the way he's made himself undroppable in both is phenomenal. He really deserves this, he's earnt it.
