I thought Merino was quite good today. Some sloppyness but overall he did well. We never seem to agree on him.

It cannot be emphasised enough how many points we'll lose by not having a 15-20 goal striker like. It's a f***ing crime we left that window with f***ing Joselu. 15-20 goal strikers are few and far between like. We could do with a couple capable of double figures at this level for a start. They aren't mind. Llorente, Defoe, King & Benteke all hit at least 15 last year for s**** clurbs. If we're planning on spending any money in January then bids for either Benteke or King would be my top priority. King will be difficult as Bournmouth should survive, but if Palace continue like this then they could be all but relegated by then.

Actually hope we start Mitro given their defensive issues. I think he'd make their centrebacks feel very uncomfortable.

Luckily they're pretty much the only good club we can guarentee we won't lose benitez to.

If we get battered because we played crap, we also need to remember that these aren't the games we have to get points from to survive, and if we think the world is falling in because we lost to Liverpool we are wrong. I got chewed out on here for inferring that after the Spuds loss, which I now admit was wrong, what I didn't see in the Spuds game however even when 11 v 11 was a will to win and a belief that we could get something other than a 0-0 out of the game, I also let the folks on here convince me we had a champo squad, which before the game I thought was underselling us. And people are getting their knickers in a twist, how many times has my original post been quoted and derided, it's a pretty innocuous comment really. We need to get points out of as many games as possible to survive. Writing off 1/3 of our season wont change the points tally we take from our relegation rivals anyway so I really don't understand the argument. We will lose games against bottom half teams this season regardless, and we need to pick up points against top 6 sides to make some of these back. Every point we take of these reduces the pressure we will have against the rest.

What I'm worried about Just had a look at their Benteke replacements. Christ they're bad. Sako who played there today is a left winger who didn't start a single game last season. After him they have a nigerian bloke (who came on today) who managed a grand total of 6 goals in a full season in League one last season. They make our 2nd and 3rd choice strikers look like Aguero and Lukaku. They're fucked

Riddiculous decision, but given who their next four games are, I can understand. Could be 8 games in without a point if they are not careful. This way they can blood someone in over the next four. I'm starting to think we may have over-rated their squad. They have good wingers and forwards but seem very light in centre mid and at the back.

Best thing about him is that he can perform in attack and defence. Gives us much more options regarding that position as we only have 3 CMs I am comfortable seeing on the field.

Was a bizarre performance. He was basically their best player and their worst. Always on the ball and wanting to do things, but his passing was f***ing horrendous. Sounds similar to how I viewed Merino's first performance.

Too early to say on Swansea, but West Ham's other two results were a defeat against Man United and a 3-2 defeat away from home against Southampton when they were down to 10 men after half an hour. Unless something goes horribly wrong this season west ham will be comfortably mid table.
