  1. Well said. As much as Mike loves his money, he cannot fail to have been excited on Sunday, and must have seen the potential this club has under someone like Rafa. Exciting times ahead hopefully.
  2. They've been losing north of £30m a season for years, are £150m plus in debt and are about to see a £60m drop in turnover. It's not looking particularly great for them.
  3. I don't know if he's still there, would seem a bit bizarre if he was, but he was in the Jesmond Dene Hotel for quite a while. He stayed at the Hilton when he first arrived. Has a house in Jesmond now not far from Jesmond Dene House actually. Yikes, we're practically neighbours.
  4. "Warriors! Come out to plaa-aay." Different film.......The Wanderers is set in the 50's and The Warriors in the 70's. They were both out at the same time mind, can remember watching them one after the other at my mates house on his top loader Betamax. Can't remember much about the Wanderers, except 'Don't f*** with the Wongs' from the stereotypical Chinese kung fu gang......and them fighting hundreds of people on the football pitch at the end.
  5. He looks like the leader of the Fordham Baldies in the 70's gang film The Wanderers. One for the teenagers.
  6. Aye, the guy is a c***. He seems to like the limelight a bit, anything of note happens and he's having a fake funeral or going to Sunderland to 'wind up the mackems'. The guy doesn't support the club, he just uses it as a means of gaining attention. He's an embarrassing melt but you can't deny he's a fan.......he definitely used to go late 70's/early 80's when we were toss.
  7. Do you not think Brewse would want to do us a favour?
  8. Had an interesting chat with a mate of mine who lives in the Gulf in the pub before the Preston game. He'd heard from someone close to Short that apparently he has no absolutely no intention of squandering his family fortune/legacy on Sunderland, and has effectively pulled the plug until he can offload it. Not sure how he intends to do that without taking a massive financial hit mind. The same fella also said that there's definitely a few people over there interested in acquiring NUFC.
  9. What an absolute parcel of shit this is.
  10. Was saying to my brother yesterday that this sort of caper sounded right up Del Boys street, and it was hard to imagine Charnley as some sort of master criminal....Not so hard to imagine him being taken for an absolute mug by some dodgy agents though.
  11. Great goal by Dembele for Dortmund 2-3
  12. I'm keeping my powder dry too.
  13. Clark and Ritchie for me, although Gayle would have won it if he'd played all season. Overall, I've been a bit disappointed in Shelvey in a all honesty. I think someone with his ability should have been dominating games more, especially in this league.
  14. Same here, my first season with my son at the game has made it very enjoyable. Having a bloke in charge I like and respect immensely has made it easier to like NUFC again after a very difficult few years......the football may not have been as exciting as the Keegan promotion, but the players aren't anywhere near as good. Promotion was never in any doubt for me. The only real downside has been the way a sizeable minority of our fans have gone on about Rafa. Bunch of whingeing crybabies don't know they're born.
  15. Very true. Although some of the bi-polar bedwetters on this thread need to hang their heads in shame
  16. You referred to Benitez as a 'fraud' after our last game, so I think it's fair to say you know the square root of f*** all son.
  17. Just spoken to my man who works at the club.......Gayle is the only injury they have. Clark definitely playing and he seems to think Mitro will get the nod after his Leeds performance. Players seem relaxed about tonight but everyone disappointed about the last few weeks.
