  1. This. https://mcfchistory.co.uk/2015/08/26/arabian-takeover-september-2008-how-newcastles-lose-was-manchester-citys-gain/
  2. Was only 4 months old when we won the Fairs Cup and we've won nothing since, so would definitely take a Cup win. No question about it.
  3. Totally agree. There was some absolute fucking slack-jawed idiots tonight mind. Some absolute weapon launched a nearly full bottle in the Leazes which crashed down near a steward next to the tunnel, christ knows what would have happened if it had hit one of the kids sitting a few yards away.
  4. Well in control, Yedlin, Shelvey and Ritchie look really good, as do the centre halves. Diame has been poor but Lazaar's first 45 mins up there with the very worst debuts I've ever seen. Hopefully just nerves!
  5. Not far off from what I've heard. Murphy definitely playing and a new back 4.
  6. You Newcastle people all punch horses. You Newcastle people all smash up the Toon after a big defeat etc. etc.etc. Lazy stereotyping. I've never claimed not to be like most of my fellow fans. On the contrary, I suspect most Sunderland fans are just like me. We live and work with Mags day in, day out, and get on very well with a bit of p*ss taking every now and then. One of my best mates is from the darkside (well almost, he's from Hexham) and we've never had a cross word. People get carried away on the internet and the security they get from the anonymity. I rarely post on RTG and if I do it's never in the PF forum. It's not just the PF forum mind you. I was having a look.at the general chat section and virtually every thread gets infected by Newcastle hatred somehow. Was particularly amused by a 'Biggest s*** hole in the North East thread on there the other day. Needless to say, anywhere North of the Tyne featured heavily but had to laugh when one goon was seriously suggesting Tynemouth and Whitley Bay as genuine candidates.......he himself was from South Shields. Tynemouth man! I have to agree though that most of the Mackems I know are decent enough folk, and that place is in no way representative of their fan base. However, I did work there a lot when we were in our pomp under a Keegan and the anti Newcastle hatred I witnessed on a daily basis was incredible......particularly from the older generation. Not towards me I may add, it would just creep into general conversation before my football allegiance was known.....the women were the worst.
  7. His chances he missed last season f***ed us, he's also already missed 2 excellent chances in 2 games this season. He deserves the criticism. His goals at the back end of the season almost saved us as well. He's missed 2 decent chances which are by no means nailed on for any striker to score, but because he could have done better he's judged on 2 'excellent chances' he's missed, rather than the positives he brings to the team and the fact that he's scored and has a fantastic goals-minutes ratio off his last 10 competitive games. It's quite easy to suss out the people who have an agenda against him. Yes. We have an 'agenda' because we've pointed out how this guy consistently misses the chances presented to him. His misses last season were one of the (small) reasons we went down, had we instead bought a proven Premiership striker and paid the going rate for one. We were desperate for someone to hit the ground running, instead we put our money and time into a kid from a foreign league and put the world on his shoulders. In fact, every person who's criticized Mitro on here has said the same thing: right player, wrong time, wrong move for him. But sure, delude yourself into simplifying the world around you. Whoever doesn't agree with you has an 'agenda,' marra. Er, no they haven't. All I've seen is "he's s***"/"not good enough"/"misstrovic". Misstrovic is pretty good though I prefer Shitrovic myself. Big game for him tonight I think.
  8. I think he meant to pull it with his left foot behind him (to his left as he was facing away from the goal) swivel and shoot. Personally think that he "miscontrolled it" but he was planning on moving that way anyway and readjusted as needed. Totally agree with this, have never been convinced he meant to do what he did.
  9. Found an old sackpardew A4 poster (original black hair) in a drawer the other day during a clear out. Keeping it for old times sake obviously.
  10. Great listen that. Very interesting what he said about backing the players and not overreacting to setbacks. A few of the fannies on here could definitely do with listening to that bit. Yeah. There are a few fannies on here that don't back players. There's one in particular that overreacts about and hates on Mitro quite regularly I don't hate him, I just don't think he's very good and don't understand the worship of the kid. I've certainly never got on his back at any point at the game. If you want to see real hatred, get on the Colback, Gouffran or Dummett thread son.

  12. Team didn't get back til 2am, but players back in later this morning for post match briefing and conditioning. Everybody happy to do so for the manager, and morale absolutely sky high unsurprisingly.
  13. Can't really reveal my sources but I know the club doctor who was leaving, is now stopping after being given carte blanche to overhaul and modernise his department. This after a long chat with Rafa at the beginning of preseason training, apparently Charnley appeared in his office a couple of hours after they'd spoken and basically said tell me what you need. He's got this, all of it.
  14. 'Lads fan'. What the f*** is wrong with them? Only a 'top' lads fans though. Massive is where it's at.
  15. It was said in a jocular fashion, you pedant.
  16. I remember coming out of the post office on St.Georges Terrace in a Jesmond a few years back, and Souness, McDermott & Saunders were looking in the window of Rook Matthews Sayer discussing some of the houses for sale. This was the Monday afternoon after another Souness horror show, so I was still foaming so I thought I'd say something. Didn't want to be too aggressive so said something along the lines of 'I wouldn't bother looking at houses if I were you', 'Why not' joked Souness, 'because you're not going to be here very long are you' I replied. They all kind of looked at each other, realised I wasn't really joking and sort of shuffled off in the other direction..... It always particularly amuses me how sheepish soccer hard man Souness actually looked, although the confusion on Terry Mac's face was a sight to behold. Really wish Owen had been there though.
  17. That says more about you then it does him tbh. As he's for the most part been a decent poster. He has indeed. Not sure how he explains his little Englander meltdown mind.

    England

TCA somehow managing to make his England look even worse than Hodgsons. Outstanding work from the big fella.
  19. Pretty much this. Asides from Tiote, we've managed to shift virtually all the dead wood/big earners from the club while bringing in £55M for two of the biggest cowards ever to wear the shirt. I'm genuinely only bothered we lost Townsend, although he showed his true colours straight away. The current squad and manager should be more than capable of winning this league and like you say, there is money to spend in January if needed.
  20. Thought he looked really good when he first started out at Wigan, but he's done nowt for a while now....and he's quite clearly a bit of a cunt. Maybe he's just a short term loan until the Papadum Kid is back?
