  1. Odd carreer Agger had, bad injuries or just fell out of love with the game? He went back to his home club when he was easily good enough for at least a top 8 kind of club.
  2. Another example of an average player Ferguson got performances from. Did well on the way to the champions league final against barca in 2011(?).
  3. That'll do for now. No point signing someone who demands to play ahead of the younger players with potential.

Welbeck one side, Sterling the other, Alli in behind would have been my choices I think.

Welbeck injured is actually a much bigger miss than I expected. Don't know what you've got till it's gone.
  6. Apparently willing to take a short term very cheap deal, will probably be a bit of a stopgap until next year or we'll buy in January if needed. Not much problem with it. Medical by the end of the week by the looks of Twitter.
  7. Does he identify as Asian or European then?
  8. Bet his wiki page hits have taken a spike today.
  9. Flags and country borders are nonsense like, just creates so many wars and problems and prevents us advancing as a species. We are one. God I miss being a righteous self important 17 year old.
  10. Yeah I imagine it was a just a realistic for his worth (insulting to him previously on a multi-year around 50k) offer and he can get better with more playing time, when not injured, elsewhere.
  11. True, but the next tournament is two years away. There's no immediate rush.
  12. If it was 8m he'd probably get a chunky signing on fee and a bit of a wage rise. Would hope and he seems he has a bit more about him than that though.

Well what about atletico then? Sometimes defence is the best form of defence. It depends who you have in your squad and how they're used to playing.
  14. Clicked new and haven't read this thread in a while so no idea who I'm responding to
  15. In tournaments you have to take a certain amount of risks. A fit Wilshire on form is by far and away more creative than any of our other cms (Alli apart who isn't quite as good on the ball in tight situations imo) so he has to go. It isn't about who's done more to 'deserve' it in the previous season, it's about who gives you the best chance in the tournament, as harsh as that is on those that miss out.

If we had peak Rio, Terry and Cole back I'd be pounding the drum for setting the whole team up to be as solid as possible and break on counter with Vardy up top and a lot of pace behind him, really not convinced we're solid enough at the back to play that way though.

Against teams we need to break down, Kane, against teams we'll be on the back good and need to counter against, Vardy. Would be a shame for either of them not to start but it's hard to see a formation with both of them in atm which looks sensible.
  18. See Micah Richards, Phil Jones, possibly soon Stones? It's one of those positions that for all the physical attributes or technique on the ball in the world, it's what's between the ears which is most important.
  19. Why should England actually have real options to influence games, to try and win the tournament? Surely it's better to placate the pundits and media in order to avoid criticism for leaving out the household names. I honestly had hope for Hodgson. Hope he does well but with that selection he's looking at an early exit imo. Possibly even in the group stage. Which household names do you think he should've left out?
  20. But i haven't seen much of him when he has played as a proper cm.
  21. That's what I was think tbh, if we play in a two I want him right behind them.
